Huge and Amazing Park
Apr 2020 • Solo
Words will not be able to describe the beauty of this place. Located in the middle of a residential estate, It starts off as a continuation of Chinese garden in jurong and then branches off into its own rustic charm and as you walked deeper, the urban-ness of a city melts away and the environment starts becoming rural. And as you explores further, the urban-ness comes back and you are back in the city.

Amazing 4 hours experience.

Have visited many times - love it!
Feb 2021
Wonderful park with many different sections. Have been here at all times of day - earliest 5:30am, latest 9pm. Delightful place with quiet areas & busy active ones too. Will be even better when the C&J Gardens re-open as will be a huge area to explore!

Organized walk during Covid-19
Dec 2020
It is not easy to organize a brisk walk at our parks for our residents during this Covid 19 period. Initially, we applied to NParks for a walk at Thomson Nature Park as many of our residents have not been there. But Nparks replied that only the maximum of 10 persons are allowed for the walk. We have 25 residents and thus we can only go to the bigger parks. So, we selected Jurong Lake Garden. Although Nparks approved this subsequent application, there are also conditions attached to the application.

First, one of us must be registered with Sports Sg. Second, we have to observe the safe distancing measures like ensuring the participants wear their face masks, stay at least one meter distance apart whether on the bus or during the walk and temperature taking before boarding the bus. Thirdly, no eating throughout the trip. Fourthly, Nparks restricted only groups of 5 during the walk. The 25 of us thus, had to divide into 5 groups with 5 in each group. No member shall mingle with another member from another group.

Instead of catering breakfast for our participants, we provided each participant with one box of kiwi fruits to encourage healthy eating and this was distributed to each participant before the trip. They are to consume at their homes.

I had been to Jurong Lake Garden last year. This time the garden was decorated with some lantern decoration display called the Festival of Lights. It symbolized Singaporeans' aspiration for a better tomorrow. We came in the morning so not as attractive as when the whole place is light up at night. Nevertheless, our residents were happy to take photos with the various big size lantern sculpture of world attractions.

It was very relaxed looking at the calm water in the lake as you slowly walked with your group members. With 5 in a group, our bonding seem closer. The last time I came, I did not notice the trampoline and the flying fox. I also did not notice the gourd tree and the various colorful flowers that grow at various spots in the garden. In a smaller group size, our attention on the minute details of the surrounding was more focused.

Covid 19 has pushed us into the home but as the situation improved in Singapore, it is time to bring the residents out for a deeper relaxation with nature.

Large Park in the west of SIngapore
Apr 2020
I took the kids here in early April, just days before the lockdown began. On this visit the play equipment was still available for use as was the water play area. Not too many people around because of fears about the virus. The kids did their usual scooting around and played with the various gear. I'm sure we will be back again soon now that the lockdown is over.

A fun place to bring the kids
Mar 2020
We have been here a few times in the past year. The kids like to go scooting and playing with the water in the artificial lake built for that purpose. There is a very large play area for them to explore too. Of course all of this in the days before the lockdown came into effect. I'm sure we will be back again soon once it eases.

A great garden to enjoy!
Mar 2020 • Family
A large and spacious park, accessible by MRT, beautifully landscaped with water features, an amazing children’s playground, sand and water play area, etc. Be prepared to walk over a large space to enjoy this Garden, so wear good walking shoes. At this time, much of the trees do not yet provide sufficient shade, so bring your sun protection if you are visiting this garden when the sun is high in the sky.

Owl safari
Mar 2020 • Solo
Jurong lake garden is a combination of the Chinese and Japanese garden in Jurong area. New linkway and landscaping has been added to make it into a more comprehensive park with diverse offerings. Was looking out for owls roosting here. Buffy owls, a pair of them.
Realize there is a swimming pool here as well. If you have time, bring your swim suit and take a dip.

Leisure walk with friends
Feb 2020 • Friends
A pleasant walk in the evening. Though we start our walk at 5.3pm, the sun was still scorching to the skin. A garden for all ages. We saw couples takes wedding photos & fiends Instagram pictures. Passed by an allotment garden where people can rent the small plot from government to plant their crops. Interesting find indeed.

Great place to spend with family on weekend
May 2019
A place to unwind on weekend; adult can relax and enjoy the botanic scene, kid can run/scoot/roll around and learn about nature at the same time. Love the playground, which incorporate all the wood/branch elements which blend well with the atmosphere. There's also a man made beach playground for kids with sand, wave and water to play. Bring sunblock, hat, fan, sun glasses as it can get pretty hot. There's also an Active Park near the entrance, which mean gym, swimming pool (adult and kid) if walking is not enough :)
