- JazzBridgend, United Kingdom32 contributionsBest beach bar in SantoriniGreat beach with an amazing beach bar. You can hire sunbeds,,drink cold beers and eat fabulous bar food here. Fantastic view of the sunsets and Catamaran's at the bar stools early evening. Special shout out to the beach bar staff. Top class and entertaining ❤️Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 24, 2023
- Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada9,210 contributionsNice Beach to Escape toThis is a long black sand beach and there was plenty of parking in the nearby town. The beach consists of small black pebbles and lots of pumice stones that have been worn down by the sea. Our family enjoyed walking on this scenic beach. The pumice stones were fun to play with as they float in the water. The beach receives a lot of sun but we would recommend bringing an old swimming suit, towel and shoes because there is some sort of oil on this beach which can get your items dirty. The beach is relatively clean otherwise. There is not much on or around the beach so do consider bringing your own snacks and drinks. There is a tomato museum nearby that sounds interesting but it was closed when we visited in March 2024.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 23, 2024
- TiffyB6 contributionsNice viewLovely walk along this beach! It's very rocky and the sand is very hot! Nice views and pictures. Definitely a must see. The beach is long, we walked from the boating all the way to Theros wave bar. Part of the beach is nude and another is family friendly.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 19, 2024
- Claudia P5 contributionsWhen you choose Vlychada you choose the best! The place is great, really chill, with music in the background, you can relax, sleep, swim (the water is deeper than other beaches that we experienced in Santorini which means there are few families with kids), not too crowded, with very good beds (30 euro on the first row to the seaside, 25 on the second, and 20 at the third), big umbrellas so everything you can wish for. We really enjoyed it! We totally recommend Vlychada beach!Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 24, 2024
- busymum621Southampton, United Kingdom94 contributionsBeautiful spotLovely little beach with life guard on duty during the day. Black gravelly sand so quite hot under foot. Sea is clear and lovely for swimming. Beach bar with sun loungers but they’re quite expensive (€30 for front row) however, after 5 they’re free if you buy a drink from the bar which is what we tended to do. Lovely little marina a few minutes walk away with a shop, ice cream and a fantastic restaurant. The beach is a great viewing point for the fabulous sunsets and not too busy either. The cliff formations are pretty stunning too all the way along the beach.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 24, 2024
- Susan B17 contributionsLike a scene from Star Wars!Fabulous backdrop with the moon rocks (reminds you of a scene from Star Wars!), the sand is coarse and gets very hot so beach shoes are recommended. You have to pay for your beds and umbrella (more expensive the closer to the sea you are) and we paid 25 euros to be on the front row, but it was very quiet and gave is a clear view of the surfers and boats. The sea was very very rough and was strong enough to knock you off your feet, so probably not ideal for families, but fine for couples.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 16, 2024

Beautiful beach, although little mentioned, south of the island of Santorini. The beach is made of black pebbles and behind it there are high white cliffs dug and worked by the wind.
It gives a feeling of deep relaxation and wild nature. Although it is served with a couple of groups of umbrellas, in which in the first there is also a cute little tavern built in pumice stone.
The cost of the umbrella set + two large deckchairs (practically for two) is around 25/35 euros per day depending on the row.
Swimming can be done by the whole family, always wearing rock shoes due to the pebbles.
Recommended.

Very beautiful and characteristic beach, one of the few truly wild ones in Santorini. Once you arrive there are two beaches, the first with sunbeds, umbrellas and bars and the second only with sunbeds and umbrellas. In the first beach the cost of the stations ranges from €35 to €15 depending on the row where you prefer to stand. Furthermore, the bar also offers the possibility of having lunch inside or not. We had a good time except for a misunderstanding with one of the waiters, who had a very arrogant behavior. It all ended with an apology from the staff and some Greek liqueur kindly offered.

Difficult to get to, off the main roads but absolutely beautiful. Cute lil beach bar with nice lunch choices and reasonably priced. Sunbeds are more expensive but a more chilled beach experience and beautiful clear seas

Vlychada beach is by far THE best beach of Santorini: the landscape is very different than anything I ve seen before, since the formation of the rocks behind the beach is rare. Actually it is not a real solid rock, but the ash after the volcano eruption 1600 B.C. that fell and looks like sculpture after all these years with rain, waves, winds. Sand is black and fine, there is one business with sunbeds and umbrellas, no party, no music , no restaurant, a real paradise!! Even further down , nudisme is possible..

I have to admit this is my favourite beach in Akrotiri.
You have the beach next to restaurants and there’s a marina to visit too for some sightseeing…it’s easy to drive into (unlike the meandering roads of the red beach!) and most of all, one of the best places to eat in Santorini is close by (Paaraki restaurant ) as recommended by a local! A perfect place to relax with family and spend the day sunbathing with amenities and lovely cuisine right beside the beach…what else could one ask for!

My favorite beach of all. To reach the beach you have the impression of crossing the Grand Canyon. Beach of black sand and small pebbles walkable. the atmosphere is suggestive being surrounded by white rocks. Also suitable for families with children. The only flaw the prices of the bar, for a half-liter bottle of water the cost is three euros.

Wide beach in a very suggestive setting.
Possibility to take umbrellas and sunbeds or take advantage of the ample space for the free beach.
The only drawback, considering the distance from Fira, is the limited amount of rides that are guaranteed by public buses. Definitely worth visiting for those who have a car or scooter

Il villaggio di Akrotiri è visitabile gratuitamente o si deve necessariamente pagare l'ingresso al sito archeologico?

No, there is a snack bar at the end of the beach, and that's about it.
