Welcome to Preus museum - a treasury of photographs, technical equipment and phot litterature in a historical building refurbished by architect Sverre Fehn.

Preus museum is Norway's National Museum of Photography. The museum was founded in 1995 when the Norwegian Government bought the collections that belonged to Preus Fotomuseum, a private museum. The Norwegian State is the owner of the museum.

Preus is Norway's national photography museum and lives up to the challenge. An interesting permanent historical exhibit precedes the main exhibition space which has had really amazing shows during the past few years, including legendary Life magazine photographer Margaret Bourke-White, Enerest Cole (who documented apartheid South Africa) and Nick Brandt (stunning portraits of African animals). The National photographic museum . Lots og New and antique Photo technocalities, real spycameraes, beautiful and rare designcameraes. The arvhotecture is high classic modern . And There Are galleries and high-class exhibitions. Very Nice museum, and great fin for kids

Where to start? Preus Museum is all things photography. You want the history of photography? Check. You want to see the evolution of actual cameras? Check. You want to see great photographic collections? Photo archives? Do you need research? Preus museum has all of the above. And also wonderful exhibitions that change regularly. A reason alone to come and visit.... More

Old cameras and pictures collected from all over the world. Right now you can see the exhibition; Nick Brandt on this earth, a shadow falls. This exhibition is produced by Fotografiska, the Swedish museum of Photography
