Old style arcitecture worth a visit
Apr 2019
We were in the area (Hurtigruta stop) and saw this church on the horizon. Turned out to by a nice walk from the harbor and an interesting wooden church constructed at the turn of the century. Worth a visit.

Don’t bother going in
Aug 2018 • Couples
While the outside is impressive to see, it is not worth going in. You have to pay 4€ to see a very sober interior which you might aswell check on photos as it does not awe you.

We were impressed by the stately exterior of the Lofoten Cathedral.

Beautiful Cathedral in a perfect location. There was going to be wedding in an hour or so and we only had a quick look and a few pictures of the interior. The workmanship is
beautiful and having used light woods, it had a lovely, airy feel to it. I thought it was beautiful, personally
My grandfather was christened in this church in the 1800's which is what brought me to
see it. It did not disappoint.

The historical background of the church is quite interesting
Sep 2017
The historical background of the church is quite interesting. Its impressive from inside and outside. And it can acomodade the complete population of the now village of Kabelvag. To mention that Kabelvag was one time the second biggest and most important town in Norway, next to Bergen. And the church stood right in the center of town. And is now outside of the village, that lost its importance, when its harbour was lost to the sea.

Beautifully understated Church
Jul 2017
We visited in the morning, 40K to enter. The inside is quite plain but nevertheless beautiful and peaceful.

Large wooden church, unremarkable inside and outside
Jun 2017 • Solo
This is a large wooden church, well maintained and visible from a distance. I could not find any excitement with the outside design and a rather dull inside.

Nice cathedral
Jun 2017 • Couples
We briefly stopped by this wooden church on our Lofoten trip. Although it said that the church is closed, the door was wide open so we could sneak in. Plain interior, but nice

Another dissappointment in Norway...
May 2017 • Couples
We were there at ~11am and it didn't open until 3pm!! It is very imposing from the outside and I would have loved to go inside... what a shame...
So far we have encountered closed attractions because it is Saturday afternoon, ie after 1pm, Sunday, a National Holiday or it is still winter in late May... this is not generally published so hope it helps someone....

Stand out
Apr 2017 • Couples
We stopped briefly on our return drive from Reine to Svolvaer, this is a lovely and well-maintained cathedral and we enjoyed wandering around and reflecting. We didn't look inside.
