It's a nice cave to visit if you are around this place. To the cave it's also an amazing road where you can take really nice photos.
They don't have public toilet there and no restaurants to eat, but the cave it's not so far from the city.
Also the cave it's really nice and accesible to visit without a guide

Travelling with a mobility handicapped parent for once did not prove a challenge. This location had a good hand rail, reasonable steps and the interior is well arranged with a raised platform protecting the cave base as well as offering a flat even surface to walk on. Claustophobia is not an issue as chambers are large and broad. One does have to watch your head every once in a while but over all it was manageable even for a 75 yr old couple with a walking stick.
For a better appreciation I would advise bringing your own flash-light and a good WINTER jacket. It is a fridge!

We went there from Targoviste by car. The landscape which begins in Rucar is absolutely lovely. We paid 3 lei/person to enter the keys and 10 lei/adult (5 for kids) to enter the cave.
Volunteer pupils present the interior of the cave. I appreciated their explanations.

Nothing to see there.
On the other hand, the drive up to the cave is very nice, and if you are lucky and there's snow - the drive up the canyon is beautiful.

Cave Dambovicioara, is an ancient stalactite cave.
The cave's interior is cool even in summer.
The entrance to the cave involves a fee, and includes a guided tour by a local boy or girl that describe, in Romanian or English the history of the cave.
The road that leads to the cave is much more impressive and beautiful. A small river flows alongside the road, and on both sides of the road soaring high cliffs.
Crossing the road involves a small fee to one of the locals.

The whole cave is a 5 min tour.
It's pretty expensive for that experience.
No reason to visit, better keep traveling the canyon.

The cave its ... ok: few chalk formations and nice stories from the guide, but in too much hurry, like they want just to take the next group. One after the other ull enjoy the visit. Anyway best thing in this visit is the Dambovicioara canion - wich is a "must see".

A nice tour within the cave guided by some nice kids which are presenting you the main things that you see over there. We really enjoyed the tour.
TIP: Stay away from the candy that are sold on the stairs of the cave. They are terribly overpriced.

Very nice cave which is accesible for everybody.
The tour guide will be made by some kids very good informed.
Before you will reach the cave you will see also the Dambovicioarei Keys (Cheile Dambovicioarei).
