Very friendly people at the ticket box. We were first told that we could join in with the next available tour but it would be spoken in polish because the most of the group were polish and we would be able to ask the tour guide at the end of the tour any questions that we had but then the woman suggested that her son who speaks english very well could take us and another small group who were also english speakers in to the mine. It was interesting to learn about what happened in the mines and what sort of stuff were used and so on. It was her sons first time to do a tour in the mine, he did well considering this. It was nice that he got the kids involved too.
You can do it, you can become a tour guide if you carry on practising :)
One point is dont forget to take something warm like a jacket with you its very cold inside the mine and it stinks due to the water that runs through and the chemicals that were in it.

I visited this place few times already, this time I went for "extreme" route. It is a walk in the places, which are not accessible for most of the tourists. We were there in a small group of five people plus the guide. Incredible experience - flooded galleys, phosphorescent mushroom, and lot of interesting information from Marcin the guide. Worth every money, every effort and every mud stain on my clothes (rubber boots provided). I will certainly come back there soon. After the walk you can relax and have a snack in a bar, and buy some cool souvenirs - like uranium glass, that glows when lit with UV torch.

Super interesting. A shame there are no tours in English but hand-out of the script in English is very helpfull.
Super interesting to see the history of the mine and to wqlk around inside the mountain. I definitely recommend a visit - and a stopover at the nearby beach afterwards.

Great tour, great guide, really worth the trip. Fascinating story behind this place, it does leave a lasting impression. It is SUPER COLD though, especially if you go there in summer during a heat wave, so make sure to take extra warm clothes with you to put on. I took extra clothing but was still freezing during the tour - I'll definitey go there again but better prepared to fully enjoy the place.

Great to visit and learn about parts of Polish history fro a band of enthusiasts.
Bear in mind it is damp an cold in summer, so take appropriate clothing with you.

Fully recommend visit in the uranium mine "Podgórze" in Kowary. Together with a group of friends we went there to spend some time as we've just arrived to mountain hut on Przelecz Okraj and we had just few hours before sunset. We went there thinking it will not be that much fun but I am fully surprise. The guide was really engaged in telling stories, know a lot of details, answer all (even quite unusual questions). The story of the mine itself is interesting, there are several small exhibitions with really great items (uranium glass is definitely thing i will remember forever), there are nice stories from nowadays about diving, exploring closed part of mines etc.
Wish all the best to people who take care of this place!

A great and unforgettable tour in Kowary underground! A little bit of history and nature, we loved that! It was cold, but absolutely worth visiting!
