If you ever go to sfakia this is a must visit place! The beach is a bit cold but the restaurant has great service and tasteful food! The owner there is friendly and the staff are good too. The food is tasteful, cheap and raki...More
We went quite early in the morning (we arrived around 10:30) and it was wise, since at that point the beach was still almost empty and we could pick the spot we preferred. An umbrella with two beach loungers comes at 6.50€ per day, even...More
We took the regular ferry departing 11:00 am from Loutro and the ride costs 4 EUR one way. You an return to Loutro at 17:00 pm or to Hora Sfakia at 17:30 pm. The beach was perfect for couples or families with children. Because of...More
Worth the effort to go. We took a water taxi (be careful of return time, the water taxi people aren't always clear and you could get left behind, only to pay 40€ for a private ride) and thoroughly enjoyed the day. The taverna is great...More
Sweetwater is a very special place, this was our third visit, the last time being in 2009 so we were keen to find out what if anything had changed. The answer was not much, thankfully. The taverna is excellent, really friendly and welcoming staff and...More
This beach is mainly accessible on foot as it is part of the main trail across SOuthern creek. One part is nudist, the other is not, but there is enough space for everybody. Useful taverna at one end of it. Great for beach-lovers.
We love this place!

The Bay is a lovely place to visit and a very pleasant walk from Loutro, but a bit more demanding from Hora Svakia. The beach is split in two for naturists and the rest and the taverna there is excellent for local dishes or just...More
When staying at Sweetwater beach it is great to have this taverna with good food & drink in the shade. Always filled up, but a seat is provided when required. Fish swimming underneath gives good entertainment. Nice staff!
From the crystal clear sea water to the Mermaid taverna this idyllic beach is a must. Try the Fakies (lentil soup) and sip a glass of local wine while Georgios entertains all comers with his cretan wit. You will come back...it's heaven. Clothing optional on...More
