About
The La Montina estate was founded in Franciacorta in 1987 by three brothers, Vittorio, Gian Carlo and Alberto Bozza. My father Gian Carlo and two uncles Vittorio and Alberto come from the countryside and are imbued with its agricultural traditions. Their passion for the land and for wine making was born out of these traditions and has been a part of their lives since childhood. Why? Because their Father-my grandfather Fioravante Antonio (nicknamed Fiore) - had also worked in the vines and produced red wine. I remember his rough hands, stained red like every vineyard worker, the color pigments absorbed from hours of handling the berries.

Short: We were made utterly not welcome and looked upon. Little did they know...

Long: We first encountered La Montina wines at a wine fair in our country many years ago and we liked them very much. In fact we had such a great chat with the person at the counter she let us know when she was coming again at the fair. Fast forward some years and we decide to go to Piedmont for holidays and make a stop in Franciacorta region and finally see where this wine is growing in person. My husband called upfront but unfortunately the cellar tour and tasting was already full at that time. We still wanted to visit the place and buy some vine (we were traveling with a car) so he asked if we could taste some samples in the store and that was confirmed.

Unfortunately when we arrived the old lady at the store almost shun us away, stating they do not offer tastings before purchase as if we were some sort of freeloaders looking for a free booze. We were flabbergasted. Eventually the other lady reached below the counter and poured us two samples without offering any explanation about the wines even though we can speak Italian. They were mediocre at best so we decided to leave utterly disappointed, regretting to make a special detour for this.

Lucky for us, we have stocked up with great wine in Piedmont, including bubblies from Alta Langa. La Montina for us, however sentimental, is a thing of the past.

Other wineries are much more expensive up to 50 EUR per person and a minimum of 6 people. In this winery they were willing to conduct the tour with tasting for 15 EUR per person and only for the 4 of us. It turned out that the winery specialised in "shampain" and the tour was managed by the owners son (very nice person).
The place has it's on art gallery which is a nice bonus and the store offers sparkling wine, salami and cheeses in decent prices.
I wouldn't miss it for the world.

We arranged a wine tour of the premises of this magnificent faculty located near Brecia, a 30 minute train ride west of Verona where we were picked up and driven to the winery facility by a relative.
Our party of 7 were escorted through the winery where we learned of the history of the winery.
We sampled the wines and nibble on foods that enhanced the body of the sparkling type of wine (commonly described as Champagne).
The winery was prepared to host a wedding later that day. It is a wonderful setting not to be missed.
We purchased a few bottles to consume on our trip and a few to take home with us in a month's time.

We came to visit the Tenuta in August. We were given an extensive tour of the premises, starting with the outside areas: vineyard, pressing area, courtyard. We then saw the massive underground cellar where the wine is fermented and stored. We finished with a tasting of the amazing sparkling wines.

All in all, it was a lovely visit, and I can heartily recommend it to anyone interested in wine.

We visited La Montina winery last month on a trip to Italy. We had read about Franciacorta wine but had never tried it. We made a reservation and arrived to be greeted by Jessica, who provided us with an outstanding tour of their beautiful facility. She explained the history of the facility and then led us through the production area and the rooms used for events. We finished up in the tasting room where Jessica conducted our tastings and educated us on Franciacorta wine and the La Montina vintages. The building and grounds are just beautiful and Jessica did a fabulous job. We hope to return again in the future.

I had already visited Montina when I was at school because the agronomist of this estate was one of our professors, the visit was excellent and very interesting, the villa and the estate are wonderful and worth visiting, at the end of the visit it was an aperitif was planned with truly excellent wines and truly delicious products, truly memorable.
Too bad about the sponsorship with AC Milan (we're obviously joking) but I will definitely be back

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff of this valuable winery in Franciacorta.
A perfect tour, accompanied by Mr. Alceo, a cheerful and enthusiastic person, who led us to learn about both the history of the place and all the phases of harvesting and winemaking of their excellent sparkling wines.
Superlative aperitif, in short only praise, we will be back to see you soon!

Tasting €18, including visit and a glass.
Everything else, even bread, is paid for and at a high price.
Definitely too high compared to what was offered.
There was a wedding on the day and we were unable to visit the villa.

This is a beautiful vineyard, mixed with modern art. It was originally a residence for a close family member of a former Pope. Quality wine is sold here. In my opinion, it was so-so with the taste of the wine.

Welcoming champions🤔
Having entered the wine store, we would have liked to taste and then possibly purchase their wines, but the lady on the computer, with a disgusted face, replied that it wasn't a bar. Evidently according to her, we were not an adequate target according to her standards. Although we sell some of their products in our restaurants. Patience, there are a thousand other WELCOMING wineries in Franciacorta.
