About
Born in 1975, Cascina Sòt is a farm in Monforte d’Alba, that was purchased by Maria and Giuseppe after they have worked for years in the property as sharecroppers. However, with the advent of the son Leonardo and his wife Silvana, the wine business has become the only corporate commitment. The company currently cultivates its own vineyards, some of which are located among the most prestigious cru of Barolo wine area. In 2014 Maurizio, son of Leonardo, after finishing his studies at the Wine School of Alba and experienced in other wineries in the area, is directly involved in the vinification and subsequent sale.We are waiting for you! Come to try our wines!

Enchanting place, in the middle of the Langhe del Barolo, visit to the vineyards and the very interesting cellar, the passion and sacrifice of the owner shines through. Tasting with 5 wines paired with cheeses and cured meats for the price of 20 euros each. Advised

We booked a visit with tasting at this farmhouse attracted by the positive reviews and the experience repaid our expectations.
The visit was held directly by the owner, a young boy, with a degree in oenology, very knowledgeable and passionate, who courageously decided to continue the business started by his grandparents, continued by his father and now managed by him and his sister . An equally young girl who accompanied us during the tasting of the wines, explaining the various characteristics with precision and competence.
The visit started with a tour of their vineyards, where the type of grapes, exposure of the vineyards, soil and cultivation methods were explained to us, and then continued in the cellar where winemaking and conservation were explained, ending in the tavern, where wine tasting was served (5 tastings: €20; 7 tastings; €25). Together with the wine we were offered a small platter with breadsticks, parmesan, salami and a saucer with hazelnuts and lady's kisses.
We really appreciated the authenticity of the owners, the attention to tradition and at the same time to environmental sustainability issues and obviously the wines. In addition to the classics (Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera) 2 whites are tasted (Nascetta and Chardonnay) but a mention goes to their sparkling wine, which is really interesting.
Congratulations guys!

Holidays come and go, but fortunately the wine is here to stay.

Thinking back (back home now) of a loverly afternoon at Cascina Sot.

After an interesting tour around vineyards and inside the premises, we had a great time tasting wine and talking wine and trade (and payment terms in Italy 🤫)

Recommend this stop to all wine lovers!

We chose this small, artisanal winery, as the owner (young winemaker) says by reading a few reviews.
We did the tasting and the tour of the cellar, all explained in detail.
Excellent quality wines that have nothing to envy of more well-known wines.
I highly recommend this winery.

We had a visit with tasting guided by the young owner, who passionately continues the work started by his grandparents.
First he took us to see the vineyards, explaining the type, exposure, cultivation methods and wines made from them.
Then he showed us the cellar, explaining the winemaking and conservation process, always depending on the wine.
All really fascinating and he was very knowledgeable and available to answer questions and curiosities.
Finally the tasting, a choice of 5 or 7 wines, all very welcome, accompanied by a platter of cured meats and cheese.
Finally, there is the possibility of purchasing and taking away the wine directly or, as we preferred, receiving it comfortably at home.
More info for those who have a dog: it is possible to carry it throughout the entire route, obviously with due attention.

Piedmontese reality born from the passion and dedication of young owners who have decided to invest in their territory and on the legacy of their family. Competent and modern winemakers but linked to traditions that are worth rewarding. Excellent tasting with superior Barbera and Barolo of excellent quality. To be enjoyed also nascetta and sparkling wine classic method

Enjoyed very much the wine and English speaking wine tour with very friendly brother and sister team. The cellar was beautiful, and the location was easy to find. Fee for wine tasting was very reasonable with excellent wines.

We were very well received by Lorena, who showed us her family's vineyards and winery, explaining the entire process of producing different types of wine, from planting the grapes to selling them. Afterwards we tasted 7 different types of wines produced there and their pairings. It was a wonderful experience! We will return in the fall to see the vines larger and producing.

Fantastic vineyard visit and wine tasting. A family run operation (brother and sister) who tell you about the history of the winery, their ambitions and the characteristics of the wines you get to taste. I particularly loved the orange wine and my husband thought the 2019 Barolo was fantastic.

Beautiful place in the Barolo
A family whose young people took over the estate to produce very good wines
After purchase they offered us the tasting and the wines arrived by direct carriers in France
