Parknabinna in such great condition, in the south-east Burren, twelve wedge tombs are also concentrated within a small area, with this one particularly fine example conveniently located at the side of the back road between Kilnaboy and Carran. Just across the road is a wonderful glacial erratic, perched atop its limestone pedestal

Small wedge tomb (about 2300bc) – where they had an archaeological dig going on. It was a small site, but fascinating and the archaeologists from Galway gave us a short explanation. Worth a short stop.
