Overall fantastic experience! Great guides, lovely horses and wonderful stable to warm up afterwards with hot beverages. We all really enjoyed the 1 hour ride which included a beautiful trail to the sea with a number of water crossings. Thank you!!

Highly recommend! My family of 5, ages 12 to 75, had little to no riding experience and had a great time on the one hour tour to the beach and back. The horses were so gentle and sweet and very easy to ride. Our guides were excellent! They have a couple friendly farm dogs on the property as well.

We took the 1 hour ride through the waters and on the beach. The trainers were great from the start and taught us how to control the horses.

Myself and two friends booked a private 3 hour tour, with Ziggi as our guide. My daughter is very experienced; myself less so and a bit rusty. Our friend rode as a child but hadn't ridden for years.
The ride was exceptional. Honestly the best ride I have ever had...my horse was superb...powerful, sensitive and supremely comfortable and forward going. We tolted/cantered for a large proportion of the ride and these gorgeous horses seemed to love every minute of it and I was virtually crying with happiness! All of this in the most gorgeous scenery; beach, lava fields and mountains. I will be back and if I am able to ride Orra again, I count myself one very lucky human. Thank you Ziggi.

We had the most fabulous horse tour, my daughter and I were invited to take a personalized tour as the group we had booked with had beginners and we have experience. I did not expect to have a horse that was super excited to go and gallop on the beach, we ended up galloping in the deep sand and water most of the time, it felt magical!! I would go back anytime!

Really glad we found this place.
Staff looked after us--Kim, Vivian, Siggi; picked experienced, gentle horses, and kept a close watch on us during some tricky stretches of ground.; some tough terrain.
They also were flexible about letting us ride part of the way with a longer excursion--after 2 1/2 arranged for us to stop and get off, then transported the horses and us back to their farm.
My wife and I had literally not ridden a horse in decades but we knew we were in good hands.
Riding on the beach, then on top of the volcanic rock was exciting and a totally new experience.
Wish we could have gone with them a second time.

This is a stunning place for a ride, and the horses were incredible. We showed up at the last minute because we didn't know if we would have time to fit in a ride, and they accommodated us.

We booked this horse riding tour last minute and have definitely no regrets. The staff was amazing, horses were so sweet and trained well and the ride was more than beautiful. Would recommend this for everyone even if you have not that much riding experience, they find a horse that suits you!! You really feel and see those people live for the horses and that is amazing! We absolutely loved it!!!

We had a wonderful time at Stori Kambur… the horses were amazing, the guides were friendly, and the scenery was beautiful. The 1 hour ride was perfect for our group. To be clear, we are not expert horseback riders. We got some time before the ride to get to know our horse, and they are so mellow and easy going. The guides were happy to talk about the Icelandic horse and the business… it was clear these horses are well taken care of and loved. I would recommend them to anyone interested in seeing some Icelandic countryside and meeting these beautiful horses. You do not need to be an experienced rider to enjoy this activity.

Booked two hour tour on 9/13/21 one week in advance. Drove their from Reykjavik arrived to find they cancelled my horse ride one hour prior due to weather. Weather was fine cloudy but nothing to cancel trip. We were very disappointed with this level of service. Not impressed with this so called family business. Avoid this company move on to others in the area. Plenty of good horse riding companies in the area.

How far in advance do you require a reservation? We're looking at early June and don't know if we'll have time for the ride and to see the rest of the peninsula. We're thinking of a 1.5-2 hour ride. There are two of us.

Yes, we can offer children 7 years and older for 1 hour ride. We can also offer them to be lead around on a horse with a walking guide if that suits better.
