The walking trail was pretty manageable considering we did not venture further pass the bridge. We just admired the waterfall from its foot. If you would want the full experience, I heard from the people climbing down from the hike that it can be a little steep and challenging? So if you are up for a hike, maybe this could be your go-to! Just remember to wear firm-gripping shoes!

If you have some time to spare, I do recommend you just heading to the bridge. It was pretty refreshingly serene!

Some people might think Im crazy for saying this but this was my favorite spot I visited on my trip to Iceland. I stopped here one afternoon in mid April. I was the only one there. I feel that it incorporates all the geography of Iceland into one little area. Waterfalls, steep cliffs, spectacular views, and even a patch of forest. Its fun to hike up the rocks along the water winding up to the falls and there are picnic tables scattered around the area making it a good place to stop for a snack. There is also a great view once you get up there of the coast. I just found it so peaceful. I walked around for a good hour then just sat and watched the sun start to set. You can see the black church of Budir in the distance (be sure to check that out since its right down the road) I was told its the only black painted church in Iceland.

We stumbled across this waterfall while driving around the area on our trip. It was visible from the road. It was a nice area to stop and take a walk up, and wasn't that crowded. The hike up was nice and it was a pretty waterfall. Not the most impressive one in Iceland, but it was still worth a stop.

No need to leave the car when the weather is inclement, you can we the waterfall easily. After a wet few days the flow down moves very swiftly. Quite a forceful picture.

Sitting in the back yard of a small farm, this dramatic waterfall has its own parking spot and 300-meter well-groomed gravel trail. We hit it in the late Spring, so we welcomed the torrents of water falling over the sheer cliff.

Like other reviewers, we just happened to see this waterfall while driving and decided to park and hike up the hill. It was not very crowded and offered a fun yet challenging hike (due to the muddy conditions, the trip down was a bit difficult). A highlight of our day!

We were driving along the peninsula and happened to see this waterfall and a parking lot to access it. (Many waterfalls here do not have any access.) We parked and followed the trail going up to it. It was a strenuous steep climb of about 15-20 minutes. If you take your time, you can do it! Once up there we had fabulous views of both the waterfall and the valley it faces.
Obviously with only 3 other reviews here, it's not one of the heavily trafficked waterfalls in Iceland, but it is different from the others and worth a stop and jaunt up if you are in the area. It comes at a time when you've been sitting for a while in the car, so just do it!

We saw it on our last day as we were passing by. By then we already saw all the major and huge waterfalls so did not stop here. Also there is a short hike till the waterfall. We were already too tired. But it is a nice spot if you begin your tour from this part of Iceland.

We just spotted this from the road (like everyone else) so hopped out for a closer look. Two of us climbed the steep little path past the bridge viewpoint to get nearer the top - recommended if you have the time and agility and a waterproof coat! Otherwise you can see the falls well from the bottom. A good little stop on a Snaefellsnes road trip.
