Hiked into this crack in the mountain during a light snow and enjoyed the magical flakes descending down into the narrow opening! Loved that we had it to ourselves!

The hike from the parking lot is more difficult than it looks (especially on a windy day!) but it's worth it to enter the canyon and explore the space. Plan to wear waterproof shoes or get your feet wet to climb all the way back...More

Really interesting canyon. Take waterproof shoes, as you need to walk on the stones within the small river. I have really enjoyed it.

I would have loved to have give this site a 5 star, but we went on a beautiful sunny day and it was overrun with people. We had been hiking all week in the rain and wind, so we’re used to sites to ourselves. Thank...More

Just like everywhere else when you are driving around Iceland if you see cars on the side of the road it seems like you are supposed to pull over, even if you don't know what you are looking at. This was another unplanned stop for...More

Hike up from parking lot (you'll get used to that in Iceland) to the opening of the gorge. It was still snow covered with a lot of water flowing. We ventured in for a bit further but then decided we'd gone far enough. Still glad...More

Quick hike uphill from the parking, some 15 minutes there and 10 minutes back. The canyon itself is not much interesting, just few metres inside, but the look on it from the distance is worth the view (see the picture attached).
