As a child of the 50s, with civil defense drills at school in preparation for a Russian nuclear attack, this was quite eye opening. It’s a beautiful drive out to the site through the country side to a national park from our cruise ship dock....More

This place is tricky to find; and you'll only get in there with a tour-guide; but if you made it down there = you'll really feel the cold war and the heat of it's once existance! Unfortunately: After the Russians left, some people took literally...More

Been nice if they did tour in English as with audio Gide wasn’t easy to catch up with group and you missed a lot of information, but overall very good experience as I had my personal translator. Recommend 100%

If you are in the area, take time to visit. We stayed at Plateliai Sala and it took us about 15 minutes to get to that place. It offered an interesting tour that took us to the underground. I would recommend!

If you are in the area it is a must. A long drive but worth it to see what could have happened to the world. Well documented and extremely interesting. Located in a beautiful forest. Children would be interested as well.

A unique place to view not so distant history. In the middle of a National Park with a small footprint, we discovered this “eerie” place. Four silos and a control room. It is not easy to find, but it was worth the travel.

Plokstine Missile Base is such an interesting and informative place to visit! This former soviet nuclear missile base has been transformed into a fascinating museum about the Cold War and the base itself. It's chilling to think what could've happened to the world had the...More

Been there when there was no museum and just one guide showing the building. From building to museum. Every Lithuanian and people interested in Cold War should visit

Fascinating missile base with good presentations of the remaining artefacts. Everything of scrap value was however "saved" by locals bribing the guards with vodka. Chilling perimeter defence with electric wired, mines, etc.

Rather out of the way for tourists to get to but well worth the effort. You go straight to the site no need to visit the tourist centre in Plokstine .

We only did an audio tour which takes about 1 hour. If you only walk around with no guide it's better to have an audio tour.
