Our small group of three visited this beach after walking through the adjacent wetland, Herdade dos Salagos. A beautiful wide beach that can be walked for several miles, it's accessible from the centre of Albufeira without a car. Just hop on the City Sightseeing Algarve bus in the city centre or anywhere along the red line route. While visiting we were treated to watching two horseback riders on the beach. This is a perfect beach to spend a day when it's open for sunbathing and swimming and has public washrooms, beach chair rental and a restaurant.

Highly recommend a visit to the wonderful naturist section. Flanked by dunes that will accommodate a walk around. I didn't see anyone in the dunes. I walked up to a car park which would be a perfect location to leave your vehicle if you drive there. The beach itself is very soft and populated by both men and women naturists. Water is very cold.

The beach here goes on for miles. It is very clean and unspoiled with only the occasional cafe and toilets. Would definitely recommend.

The beach area is really good, you can walk for miles along the beach. Sun beds/Parasols/wind breaks are available to hire at various places and there are ample toilets provided and places to buy snacks/drinks. It is very popular with Portuguese families.

Lovely beach not crowded at all but we went just before high season began.
If you fancy a sun lounger outside the Os Salgados beach cafe & restaurant there are 2 prices: 10 euros till 2pm or 15 euros for the day.
There are outside showers at Os Salgados 1 euro to use.
Lovely beach to spend the day chilling.

Friends
I have been using this beach since I was a good looking, slim, legitamate, young man, .... now the exact opposite of all categories above...(work it out yourself...) I still go there. Now for a sedtae sunset cocktail in the bar in front of Pedras Amarelas... with great ambiance... and the beach is still a great place to go..if you can park in summer! If you don't like the crowds in the first 300mtrs of the beach.. you have another 2 kms of almost empty ( except for intrepids ...of beach to stretch out in, all the way to the next town of Armacao. some bars along the beach provide refreshment stops. The west side of Albufeira is less crowded and more open. Salgados Gale Vale de Parra is the place to holiday!

We used this beach when staying Salgados Dunas Suites recently. Beautiful sandy beach which went for miles - walked to Armaceo De Pera (1 hr approx across the beach) well serviced by a couple of cafes and toilets. Sunbeds are approx 12 E for two and a shade but can use all day - i liked the wooden paths to access the beach - means you can walk at night without having to walk on the sand if you wish - really recommend a visit - Salgados golf course and nature lagoon are also very nearby and well worth a visit. Will be back.

long sandy flat beach, ideal for typical beach activities for kids, surfers, etc.
But much less exciting or photogenic than the rocky beaches east of Salgados

In addition to the answers provided there is a lovely cafe/bar/restaurant on Salgados beach called Os Salgados Trb but I don't know if it will be open at that time of year but Google it and you'll get a phone number.

There are areas between Armacao De Pera and Salgados that you can be at one with nature, most take to the sand dunes at Praia Grande

Hola Ana, no sé si te refieres en concreto a las playas de Portugal, pero si no, los hoteles de la cadena Playa Senator, por ejemplo el de Costa Ballena, admiten mascotas pero te cobran 10 e diarios
