Truffle hunt and Barolo wine tasting

12 reviews
Italy’s Piedmont region is known as a gastronomic capital. On this private tour, you won’t just get to taste some of its most famous culinary products—you’ll go behind-the-scenes and see how they’re produced. First, join a truffle hunter and his dog on a walk, and see if you unearth any treasures. Then, transfer to a family-run winery, where you’ll learn how wine is made and enjoy samples of Barolo.

Friendly, polite and good service. We tasted a white and three different red wines from the area. Ended up buying Ceppi Vecchi which we are looking forward to taking home

Cantina di Nizza offers an intensive personalised tasting and winery experience. We booked the Silver Tasting which included wine and antipasto platter. Friendly, knowledgeable staff with excellent English language skills ensured we had a memorable experience. Thank you Silvia and Valerio.

It is a wine cellar with a wide choice of local wines (white, red, rosé, sparkling wines). I chose NAOS (red wine Dolcetto d'Asti Doc with violet reflections, delicate, rich, extremely pleasant and personal scent), RAFLE '(red wine Grignolino d'Asti Doc with scent of fields and flowers, grapes from well-exposed and low soils), La Bonne ( red wine Piemonte Bonarda Doc rich bouquetand well balanced wine).

This is a cooperative winery in the middle of the Asti region of North West Italy. Great place to find the Barbera as this is the center of the regional/national production. The winery has a nice wine shop that will allow you to taste the products in a friendly atmosphere! The prices are good for the type of product. In the region you can find the Barbera from adjacent vineyards at 3 to 5 times the prices. The Moscato, the sweet desert wine is also good and it has a good price as well. Over all it is a great winery which I use on a regular base. This is one of the places I stop to restock on wines during my driving vacations in northern Italy.

When our stocks of Barbera are running low, we always visit Nizza to replenish our cellar. The bulk wine on offer is excellent quality and offers great value for money. All the wines available in bulk can also be bought in 'bag in box' form and standard bottles too. There is a large range of bottled wines on offer at very reasonable prices and you can taste them in the excellent tasting facilities. We have found that Cantina di Nizza is very tourist friendly well worth a visit.
