The museum is a must see if you visit Artenara. The guide is very friendly, tells not only about the museum, but also about the history of Artenara. The rooms are full of interesting things, and the views are spectacular. The entrance is for donations,so basically you can visit first and then decide how much you would like to pay.

Very interesting! Small but beautiful museum in cave houses, cozy and decorated with a lot of love and attention to detail. Not only a lot of explanations on paper (available in many different languages) but also in videos in different cave houses. Take your time and feel free to sit on the "patio" for a while to enjoy the view and the objects around you.
Highly recommended! And free of charge.

You can visit the Casa Cueva Museum for free. You are given friendly welcome on arrival and an introduction before left to explore this genuinely fascinating museum of cave rooms at your own pace. You can make a donation. We certainly did.

an open-air museum of how people lived in caves (not in the Stone Age, but still in the 20th century - see the room with furniture from the 1950s). It was interesting for us because we then went to stay at casa cueva and could compare the current modern equipment. They had it well thought out in those caves!
I appreciate printed guides in many languages including Czech!
Artenara is a beautiful mountain town, although very windy

A fantastic museum with a variety of cultural items and information. The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the history of the region. His passion was evident and he had truly created a special place. We recommend stopping at the Centro de Interpretación de Risco Caído y las Montañas Sagradas to learn a bit about the history of the region first before coming here to see and experience it.

Really interesting cave houses with a beautiful view visitors can explore. There's no set charge, just donations. Desiree warmly welcomes visitors upon arrival. She speaks multiple languages fluently and is knowledgable and enthusiastic about the houses and we really enjoyed chatting to her. There's also an amazing little cave church just 5 mins walk to be explored too.

Lovely little museum dedicated to life in the caves of the area. Well curated and presented and not just piles of junk like so many museums of its type. Lady at the "desk" was lovely and had lots of information and chat in many languages

A warm welcome in our own language from a friendly young woman who introduced the cave houses and made herself available for any questions. This was a fascinating visit and entirely free. It’s a little off the beaten path (we missed it on our first visit to Artenara) so look out for it.

An absolute gem of a museum. A friendly guide welcomed us, explained the site to us and gave us guides in English for us to explore with at our leisure. All of the caves were beautifully laid out and it was fascinating to gain a deeper understanding of the history of the island.

Nice representation of a furnished troglodyte complex. At first glance it looks a bit flea markets but with the explanation we better understand the lifestyles of the time. Very good time. A small hermitage in the rock is accessible a little higher in the village.
