Typical bahia beach

Loved the atmosphere of the fisherman out of the tourist season. First time in this uncomon village in the sense of a road, houses beach for a very long way

Relaxing location where a river meets the ocean
Apr 2019 • Couples
Years ago we lived in this region, but at that time, we did not visit Itacimirim, which really has become more accessible and better known in a more recent period.

We drove all over this beach community - which is actually an increasing number of summer homes, beach apartment complexes, pousadas and other small hotels or condos separating a simple road from the long beach. We did briefly check out the beach which is reacheable through a few streets that go from the road closer to the ocean, but we ultimately chose to drive to one of the extremeties of this road, which is the one that goes to the left/northern side of the beach.

There we parked in a makeshift parking lot in the sand, warily paid R$ 10 (in the end, we noticed the people were down to earth and nice) and walked out to a scenery of a slow moving river flowing into the ocean, with some branches with even slower water that was actually quite refreshing compared to the air temperature.

We stayed for less than 1 hour, didn't actually buy anything from the very rustic cabanas, and had one of the most relaxing moments of our current trip. We ended up having lunch in nearby Praia do Forte (about 15 minutes by car from where we were).

Pretty but no activities
Jul 2018 • Family
Beach is long, pretty but during Brazilian winter very quaint and empty.
Waves are high so not much swimming is possible.
We’ve enjoyed long walks and some rest.
There are hardly any bars, restaurants and activities here.

Lovely beach
Apr 2017 • Friends
The beach is lovely. The water temperature is perfect. We even saw a turtle and a group of dolphins. You can go for long walks enjoying the view. Overall the beaches were clean (though I did find some trash and plastic bags) which I was happy about that as brazilians are not very careful with their beaches and don't seem to mind keeping them clean.

Praia da Espera a good combination of surf and ease!

Walk in the sand, swim at the northern edge where the water is easier or surf at the middle, where waves are a little more daunting makes this beach great!

Very peaceful and relaxing beach. The majority of the hotels is rustic and doesn't offer activities for young kids.

Wonderful beach
Mar 2015 • Couples
If you are looking for peace and calm , this is your place. Almost deserted beaches, a few restaurants and pousadas and little else.
Quite close is much more popular Praia do Forte, where you can get everything else: people, nigthlife, shopping.
