A surprisingly large turf house complete with artefacts as if left by the owners. Interesting to see how some people lived in rural Iceland up until as recently as 1966. It is well worth a visit. The cafe next door is also worth a visit.

This really is a must see attraction if you are travelling Route 1 between Egilsstadir and Lake Myvatn. Route 85 is now paved and it is surfaced all the way to the property. The 39Km distance is covered easily in 30 minutes. What awaits you...More
