Very friendly staff, who are happy to speak English and accommodate GF diet requirements. I didn’t have a beer spa and as the snow outside is about a meter deep I avoided the outside hotpots. Definitely stop in here if your in the Dalvik area.

We came for dinner, 4 adults and 3 children.

We have been to the restaurant twice before and had an outstanding experience on both occasions. Unfortunately this was about to change.

One member of the group ordered the horsemeat steak. When asked how he wanted it done, he requested medium rare but got it well done. There was no waiter in sight so he ended up taking it to the reception. Granted, he got a new and very good steak, but not before we heard the same discussion at the next table.

But the next problem turned out more difficult. The children's menu has a rice porridge course with Icelandic liver sausage (lifrarpylsa). Unfortunately each portion was less than a third of a regular children's meal. The porridge was just 1-2 regular spoonfuls and the sausage slice was just 3 tiny cubes.

The children ended up eating their fill of French fries from other plates.

When we left to pay and mentioned the issue with the children's portion we were rudely told that this was more than enough for many children who came there.

We will never come again.

We weren’t sure what to expect from a beer spa experience but we loved it. Nice modern clean facilities and a nice wooden tub with early stage warm beer to soak in. It smelled good not like warm beer. And the beer tap to pour drinks while soaking was excellent!!

We just returned home from a two week tour around the entire island of Iceland including the West Fjords, and while getting to Bjorbodin was a long drive, it was very well worth it.

We had somewhat of a scheduling issue with our original appointment, and the owners bent over backwards to help us make it work out. We were already going into this visit with high regards for our hosts. We also had some luck with gorgeous weather.

We enjoyed a Kaldi black ipa (seasonal) in the hot tub outside overlooking the water, mountains, and sunshine. Then we cooked in the sauna a bit before retiring inside to sit in our vat of beer. The beer spa itself was nice and relaxing, but truly the hot tub outside was just as nice. ALL of the beer was excellent.

After all of this, we relaxed in the relaxation room before using the clean and refreshing shower facilities.

Finally, we enjoyed the burgers... extremely good burgers. We came home with beer soap and lotion.

This whole experience was, in my opinion, better than the tourist infest Blue Lagoon. And to be honest, while the beer tub was unique and the beer was excellent, it was the hospitality of the owners, and sharing the peaceful and relaxing time with my wife that made this my absolute favorite stop along our journey.

I hope one day we get to go back, but for now, I'm thankful for the memories we got to make here!

The moment I found out about this I added it to our trip itinerary. We were driving the entire ring road anyways, what's a little detour? We showed up early as is recommended, checked in, and where given our robes. We showered and went for the outdoor hot tubs and sauna which were a welcome break as our average daily temps were quite cold thus far in our trip. Once summoned my wife and I were taken to our room (clothing optional btw) where a spacious beer wort filled tub awaited with two glasses and a tap ready for the imbibing. After the relaxing soak we were guided upstairs to the relaxation station where we were laid down and swaddled in soft cloths while listening to soothing sounds in the background. I promptly passed out. After heading back downstairs and dressing we decided to have another pint from the bar which led to us having dinner there. The meal was amazing as was the service. I highly recommend trying the horse steak. It was amazing. Our hostess Urđur was so friendly and had great recommendations for our meal and for the rest of our trip.

You start off in a lovely hot tub outside. It is only a few cold steps and then nice warm water with a beautiful mountain background. Then you go inside and sit in a wooden beer barrel hot tub filled with unfermented beer. They make sure to tell you its beer that is not fully processed and to not drink it. You know they have to tell you this warning because of Americans. There is a tap right next to the hot tub filled with the final version of beer that you are relaxing in. The tap is part of the experience. After that we ate in their restaurant where I had the Icelandic Horse. It tastes delicious! It is better than beef but tastes similar. It was nice to get some real meat like this, as I feel like your only options in Iceland are lamb, cod, and arctic char. None of my family had the heart to eat horse but they were missing out because it was amazing and I still think about how good it was. My fiancé ordered a beer flight consisting of 8 beers with 6-8 oz pours!

I did this with my 11yo son and we both enjoyed it. He was free which helped, as for an adult the cost is pretty steep even by Iceland standards. It’s best to get there early and make the most of the outdoor hot tubs, and be aware that any drinks - other than the self serve in the spa bath itself - have to be paid for. The relaxation room is nothing special and the building as a whole is really too small for the numbers. Still, it’s a fun experience if you’re in the area.
