Nice place to stay in Antigua.
The beach is awesome, the food is good, the breakfast is ok could be more local. The accommodation great. The rooms could take some upgrade. The staff was great nice and friendly. Will definitely take a trip back.

    Awesome Trip
I recently stayed at Jolly Beach for a week and it was exactly what your body needs. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The food was very good and there was everything there that you needed to enjoy the water. Do yourself a favor and book a flight and stay at Jolly Beach

    Will be returning!
We had the best stay at Jolly Beach and will most definitely be returning next year. The staff were absolutely lovely and always happy to help and so friendly/chatty. The food was lovely, we were really impressed with how tasty it all was and there was lots of choice, especially the a la carte restaurant! drinks were great - could literally ask for any cocktail you want and definitely strong and available all day! We had an issue with a room and noise on the first night and the staff instantly upgraded us to a lovely room which we were chuffed with - comfy, new beds and lovely view and modern room. The beach is gorgeous and understand the hotel is undergoing more renovations currently but all in all a fab hotel, which we found so relaxing & a joy to be in. Really pleased with the high level of security in the resort too - we felt very safe! We would have liked to see more entertainment but we were off season so hope to see that next year. Thank you so much to Jolly Beach for an amazing stay, see you next year!

    Amazing holiday
This was my first time to Antigua and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The Jolly Beach is a great resort. The staff team are wonderful, very friendly, smiley, helpful and hardworking. Nothing was too much for them. The food was to a high standard and was fresh, hot, and delicious with a variety every day. We were here during the predicted hurricane Tammy, which was obviously a tense time for all, but we were very well looked after and communication was good. Our safety was their priority and we felt reassured at all times. Again the staff worked tirelessly and went over beyond ,working way over their hours to make sure we were ok. The bars rarely had queues. The swimming pools were wonderful and the beach was stunning. I can't find any faults and would definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

    Relaxing Stay
We stayed in a villa round the bay in jolly harbour, As it was out of season this was one of the few places open. Had a great time here. great food ,fab staff , good prices. Great location right on the beach. watched rugby world cup here and some foot ball. Its called the pop up beach bar on google maps. you can park right next to it just drive through security gate. if you eat and drink here you get free sun beds and umbrella.

    Love this place
Stayed at Jolly Beach with a group of friends when we went to watch the cricket. I knew it had been closed for a while and supposedly renovated but I couldn't notice any changes from the previous times I've stayed here. Yes, the rooms are tired, lacking in amenities (kettle, fridge etc) and could really do with new bathrooms but the food is fine, the drinks are good and the staff were lovely. I've got very fond memories of Jolly Beach and will certainly visit again.

    Fantastic Holiday
This was our 8th time to JBR and second time this year so we kind of know what to expect. We could see big improvements from our summer visit with the reopening of the Long Bar and the old Hemispheres restaurant (now called Palms). Food quality is really good and better than most other resorts we have visited in Antigua. There are plenty of options so there shouldn’t really be a problem. There is one A la Carte option which is Italian and can be a bit repetitive if eating there every night it is open. The other option at dinner is buffet, which although not our preferred choice seemed to go down well with the other guests. Rooms are small and basic. No problem as we only shower and sleep in it. Drinks are plentiful are the bar staff were pleasant and helpful. Entertainment can be sporadic and is really dependant on the occupancy of the hotel on that given day. Overall is was just great to see JBR up and running and we hope to visit again next June.

Fantastic Stay at Jolly Beach Resort and Spa!
If you’re looking for an incredible experience, visit Jolly Beach Resort and Spa. The beach is incredible and everything you need is just a few steps away starting with the Pool Bar. Whether it’s drinks, burgers, wraps, or jerk chicken, everything is made to order just the way you like it! And the jerk chicken is fantastic! Can’t say enough about the food overall. The Pizza Factory has a great menu and excellent service. My wife loved the carbonara! (Had it twice! 😀). Breakfast has a wide variety of buffet items as well as eggs and omelets made to order. Our room was clean and the bed was great. Our balcony overlooked the main pool and the beach. Be sure to visit The Long Bar to see one of the best sun sets you will ever see. Patrick and the bar staff there are fantastic and take excellent care of you while you’re there. The staff were all very attentive and took great care to be sure we had everything we needed. We had an great stay and highly recommend it.

Excellent beach and week of relaxation!
My husband and I just spent a week at this wonderful resort. The staff, from Judith in the restaurant singing and being infinitely cheerful, and all the people working at the resort, work very hard to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The beach is incredible and you are not crammed like sardines such as you find at other all inclusive. The food is better than we expected with many options. It is a 10 min walk to a Waitrose grocery store for anything extra you may want. The Harbour is located in the same 10 min walk and has restaurants and stores to visit. It is very safe to walk anywhere on the island. This resort is a real gem. We ran into people who have been here 14 times and return every year.

A good time had by all
Before visiting the jolly beach resort with 3 friends I’d read a lot of the reviews. Quite a few of these were a bit negative and occasionally critical. So I think I can say I was fascinated to see for myself what the resort would be like. It’s a 3* hotel and the very good value for money overall cost reflects this. I cannot fault the price. We did upgrade on our room and for us i think this was a wise decision. Providing you are realistic in your expectations you should not be disappointed. We were all pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the variety of what was on offer daily. Quite often we were spoiled for choice. Every evening there was entertainment and a range of activities were available daily. The beach is stunning. I defy anyone who thinks differently. I cannot fault the staff who work tirelessly to provide a very good standard of service. They are very friendly and helpful. Futuristically I think there are major development plans to transform this resort so I am glad I had the chance to visit while I could afford it. If property is all about location, location, location then trust me the jolly beach is in the best position possible. My two week visit flew by and I am glad I ignored the negative and critical reviews that I saw in advance of my trip.

Just arrived back in the UK after 12 nights at Julie beach resort in Antigua.
It was a great holiday and Johnny beach was a bit tired and in need of updating.
In a rival place looks inviting reception area is okay and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Our room 129 and our friends room. We’re tired in the furniture and the bathroom needs upgrading, but the beds were excellent and slept very well every night about holiday.
The buffet restaurant which used to be the Italian was very nice breakfasts were brilliant, omelettes and eggs were really good and the scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, cornbeef hash and other things are a little bit on the lukewarm side.
The evening meals in the buffet restaurant or themed every night or very good, but sometimes on the lukewarm side, but we’ll say all the staff were really really friendly.
The coconut grill at lunchtime, burgers, hotdogs, BBQ chicken and jerk, chicken and wraps fries and salad brilliant.
The pizza factory is very very good at lunchtimes with pizzas and pasta and in the evening you have to book this restaurant but very similar food in the evening but very good.
The small pool was great nicely painted and sun beds all around the pool.
A large pool was very tired and the tiles look dirty but was cleaned very day.
The swim up pool bar was closed and not used but the beach bars were great good cocktails, beer and the drinks were strong just as I like them.
No entertainment at all, apart from a DJ or so-called DJ in the evenings.
Less than half the hotel is being used, ooms are still being updated. The long bar is completely close down and lots of rooms not used.
The beach is lovely and the sunsets 6:30 in the evening beautiful.
A coffee bar is help yourself out of heated containers and often run out.
We got fed up with Keith and his mates, trying to sell you trips and things that we found a little travel agent in the harbour area shopping centre at slightly better prices.
Use the bus to go to St John’s number 21 or 22 very cheap.
We hired a sailing boat for five hours and captain Christian and his mate were very good and had lots of drinks and some picky bits to eat, very relaxing and better than going on a catamaran with about 60 people.
There is something about a place that makes you feel relaxed, and possibly I will go back.

Just returned from a 5 night all inclusive break and thoroughly enjoyed. Good value for money, beautiful beach and, great pool with plenty of room wherever you prefer to catch some sun. Real friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome. Food was quite good as were the drinks. Whilst appreciating some things could be improved upon our needs were met for the few days we were there. Rooms were nice, with balcony or terrace but nothing flash. Nice vibe about the place. By no means a 4 or 5 star experience and definitely a work in progress since reopening but met our expectations for the money we paid. There seem to be a couple of teething problems but with a few improvements and additions over the next few weeks or months this hotel will provide a real affordable Carribean option for many people.

The staff, beach, food and drink were all very good. There was more variety in food at lunch time than I would expect at this price point.
The Lobby was clean and I was given a different room upon request due to the view.
The Hotel is old and they are working on upgrades. The hot water is a little spotty for the shower and the screen door has seen better days. Overall, check the price point vs other oceanfront hotels that are All-inclusive and this place is a bargain.

This place really deserves no stars. Make sure you look at the pictures I posted as proof of our experience. I have many more pictures. On day one we found the light in the bathroom and the toilet not functioning properly. We were unable to call the front desk because the phone didn’t work. So on day two we find out the hotel only cleans your towels every three days. I guess they don’t expect people to shower. The housekeepers told us if you want your room cleaned every day you need to pay extra. How is this all inclusive? So we never had our room cleaned and my wife took our used towels directly to the housekeepers and demanded they be exchanged for clean ones. If you want to eat there’s only one on the property and it takes forever to get your food. One of the workers suggested we go out of the resort to eat. The restaurant served the same food every day and actually only had pasta for two days. The menu is a single sheet of paper that is passed around table by table. Imagine only one paper menu. The website states two swimming pools but only one is operating the other is empty with junk in it. Fitness center is almost bare as is the gift shop. I have pictures of trashed rooms with mattresses and chairs tossed around and outside. The security is non existent as there are workers floating all around the property. Everywhere is a worksite. What is listed on the website is not what the reality is. This resort is not prepared to be open and we have had the opportunity to speak with other guests who had the same miserable experience. My advice is pass this resort by. The island, it’s people and the activities away from the resort were terrific. We also found the excursions offered at the resort to be very overpriced. I recommend a trip to St. John and Shirley Heights two fun locations just get your own taxi. The guy down the beach had jet skis for rent and offered the same excursions as the resort for considerably less money with transportation back and forth.

Do not book here. I booked a refundable room last month and called even called to confirm the cancellation policy as it was not clear on their website. Was advised I can cancel up to 14 days before check in for a full refund less a $100 cancellation fee. I called to cancel 25 days prior to check in and was told the room was cancelled and I would be receiving my refund email shortly. A few hours later they called to say I actually cannot cancel even though they provided me the incorrect information twice and confirmed my room was cancelled and the refund was on the way. Just filed a claim with my credit card.

Amazing beach on the doorstep of this resort. The sea views and sunset at its all inclusive long bar are hard to beat anywhere in the world. Good value for money resort with plenty of variety of choice for food and beverage. Waiting and bar staff very friendly and helpful creating a cummunity spirit amongst the guests. All the resort information is found on a QR code given at reception, however this is not always up to date and staff communication is lacking as to what’s on during the guests stay. We os well as others asked reception and other staff for various information during our stay but they were less than helpful and weren’t up to date on their resort information. For example one restaurant was closed during our stay and many of the guests weren’t made aware and even the reception staff were sending guests to it. Many things were reported from our room faults and not really actioned even up to the day of our leaving. Communication between management and staff seems disjointed and all individual staff do not take pride or notice of what is being offered. Any restaurant staff will know what is on the menu and be able to keep guests informed rather than passing on to head chef how much time is consumed by the one simple action of have a staff briefing prior to service. Unfortunately we
found the reception staff discourteous and dismissive and actualiy our final memory of this lovely resort was quite upsetting on our check out procedure.
We would travel to this resort again because of the lovely beach and wonderful waiting and bar staff. Improvements in communication between all the teams eg housekeeping and maintenance, chefs and waiters, reception and the management and up to date signage and even a simple notice board will free the staff up to focus on their customer service skills and the guests.

We chose not to get chairs and an umbrella which got us a little wet when the rain came through but saved us money for the drinks we had as the sun came back out a bit later. The beach is nice and the water comfortable although not clear. A great way to spend a day in Antigua if you've seen the other attractions on the island. Only down side, they emphasize $2.00 rest room use if you don't get an umbrella and chairs. Didn't enforce as we spent plenty at bar.

Went from cruise ship to Jolly beach by taxi mini bus.
8 people $10 each each way.
Wanted to go to Dickinson Bay but taxi driver said it was sh.. and Jolly beach was better.
Showed us where we could get good local food as restaurant expensive on beach.Jerk chicken was good. 8$ for chicken kebab.
Sun beds and umbrella $25 for 2 people.
Beach was lovely. Sea lovely and clear.
Were lots of stalls selling over priced gifts.
Arranged for taxi to come back 2.15 was a different driver and squeezed 18 into a 15 seater mini bus $10 dollars each.
On his mobile all the way back.
No comentry from driver about anything. Everything seemed so run down houses etc.
The islanders relied heavily on tourism.
