We visited this beach for an hour with a small tour group, which I would also like to review but I'm not sure if they're here on the site. They were wonderful, and the beach was startlingly lovely. I honestly kept expecting it to be less nice than it was. The water, the sand, a restaurant right there, and it wasn't even super crowded.

Spent a morning in front of Turner's Beach Restaurant. It was closed, so there weren't many people around, and sitting under an umbrella didn't cost us anything. The water was like a turquoise dream. We couldn't stay out of it. Snorkeling toward the rocks on the east side of the beach was okay, but nothing special. Still, a long stretch of soft white sand is always a good thing. Not much shade, though.

This beach is one of the nicest on the island. My son was excited to see a small string ray and a starfish snorkelling. He highlight of this beach is the paddle board hire, Trevor is really friendly he does paddle hire and lessons it was a nice way to spend half an hour. He is a great instructor and chatted to us afterwards about he island. If you are lucky his fab rescue dog Scratch will also be around either on the boat or playing in the sea

My wife and I noticed some shells after dining one evening at OJ's. So went back the next evening and I decided to put on my mask and go out 20-30 years and look for some shells. First I was amazed at how many fish were near the rocks directly in front of Jacqie O's. I then saw an amazing Spotted Eagle Ray swimming right below me. It was beautiful and extremely large. One of the most impressive things I have seen snorkeling. Not an expert by any means but have snorkeled quite a bit. So I would tell you swim out on the North End and it is a very good snorkel.

My husband and I visited this beach during a trip round the island in a 4X4. It is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever visited. There are changing rooms on site and a small snack hut and bar. There are a few sunloungers and umbrellas for hire on the beach too.

Spent about 90 minutes at Turners Beach as part of our island tour. Loved the sand and the water is exactly what you want on an island ~ clean, clear, and a beautiful blue. Small drop off in the water but not bad. There is an open, covered restaurant/bar but we did not get anything there. The restrooms are used as changing rooms and they are very dated and tight. Not a great place to change into a bathing suit so best not to have to change but wear your suit there. There was someone there to collect money if you want to rent chairs and another person selling jewelry and handmade items. Overall, we had a good time sitting in the water and enjoying the peacefulness.

Glad we chose this beach after talking to some of the locals. Its about 25 minutes from the cruise port, but is well worth it. Beach is awesome clean water and sugar sand. Great for swimming and strolling. Restaurant located right there with umbrella rentals if needed.

We loved our time at Turner's Beach. the water was so clear and the sand so white. We did a little snorkeling and walked the entire length of the beach. (You can walk or swim around the rocks by the seawall with no problem.) We set up our chairs on the southern side of the beach and it was the perfect place to read a book, relax, and watch the boats sail by. We finished our day with a drink upstairs at OJ's which had a lovely view. Perfection!

Early season in Antigua but we were lucky enough to have our own private beach!!! Have been here before on past visits to the island but stopped off here with some first time visitors. Great for a stroll along to OJs and back and for looking over at Montserrat.
All helped by a few beers from the beach bar.

First of all bypass the pushy cab drivers that want to shove lots of people in an bus that isn't air conditioned and charge you a minimum of $8pp if you have a full bus. We decided to use the public bus to go. You walk straight up the street from the ship and make a right onto Market Street then continue to walk until you see the bust station on the right. It's about a 7-8 minute walk. Get on bus number 22. It will take you to either Darkwood Beach or Turners Beach..... when you see the sign to the beach you just yell "bus stop" and they will stop at the bust stop to let you off..... its $1.50 pp to get there. The cab driver wanted to charge us $32 for the 2 of us at the cruise port so it was MUCH cheaper. The beach was nice and the chairs were nice. It did get deep really quickly so be careful. The water is a beautiful turquoise color but is not clear.... you can also walk to an area that is an overlook. It is beautiful with cactus and cows and rocks. Provides great place for picture. The Turners bar was great too.... Conch Fritters were delicious! Would definitely go back. Bus was easy to catch back as well. Gave us a true island experience and only cost $6 for 2 people round trip! Everyone was very friendly!

Are there chairs and I’m umbrellas
to rent on turner beach?
Written May 29, 2019
Yes there are chairs and umbrellas to rent, I don’t remember how much exactly but around $8-$10 per chair and $10-15 for an umbrella. But due to so many locals there trying to sell you stuff I wouldn’t go back to that one.

We are going on a cruise for Christmas and I would like to spend a few hours on a beach in Antiqua. My hubby can't sit in the aun. Is there a beach that is part of a hotel so that he can be in the shade while I enjoy the sun and sand? Thanks.

Hi Rosemary, every beach in Antigua is a public beach. Most hotels do a day visitor which you pay for and it entitles you to food and drinks for your visit as well as use of the facilities. I would not recommend going to the Halcyon Cove hotel though.
Hope this helps

Hi, we’re staying at keyonna, which I think is on Turners beach, are we near the beach bar? Thanks
Written February 12, 2018
Yes! You are very very near, in fact while taking a walk I realized we were walking past Keyonna & I knew all about it because it looks lovely & I’ve been wanting to stay there! Can’t wait to see your review of your stay! Have a wonderful time!

Hi - Thanks for your previous review re: Turner's Beach/Antigua. I'm wondering if there's a large drop-off to get in & out of the ocean? Many thanks!
Written September 23, 2016
I think there maybe in some areas but I did not experience that . I would check with someone in the area that knows the different water conditions .

how do you get to this beach from the cruise ship and how far away is it?
Written October 31, 2015
It might take 45 minutes by bus, but a taxi will have you there in less than half an hour. The fare is fixed at $US24 each way for up to four people travelling together and you can organise a taxi at the dispatch desk right at the dock.
If you prefer to take a bus, just walk down Market Street to the west bus station and look for a #22, which will drop you right at the gates.

Are there any lockers available at Turner Beach?
Written February 17, 2015
I'm 99% sure there are NOT lockers at Turner's Beach. We felt comfortable leaving our belongings on beach while we both went and snorkeled for 20-30 minutes. We didn't take anything valuable, I guess our camera would have been the only thing of value.
