After talking with people about the big tour boats like John's Tours, we decided on going with Phu Quoc Speedboat instead and were very happy we did.
On our tour, we saw some of the big boats and they basically herd you into an area for a short time and then ship you out.
With Phu Quoc Speedboat, we never felt rushed. We got to stay a good amount of time at each location and also went to locations that weren't packed with hundreds of other people.
It was a little windy on our day (not their fault!) so the second snorkeling spot was a bit choppy - but I imagine the big reef would be even nicer on a calm day.
Also, Phong - our guide - was super nice and spoke English.
And yes - they have life jackets in case you're wondering.
All in all, if you want a more relaxed and private experience, I would definitely say to take Phu Quoc Speedboat over the big tour boats.

This was so far my worst experience in Vietnam since arrivel on the 8 of desember - travelling the hole country from north too south. The guys are friendly enhough but the consept stinks. They picked us up on the beach in a tiny boat - they filled it with totalt 9 persons. It was windy and white cups on the waves. The boat was not suitabel for this trip and it was an unpleasant journy. The lunch is another story - disaster. The beaches where they took us is ok enhough but bot more than that. Conclusion : it is not worth to spend time on this even if they served free beer - too expencive for nothing and . This is close to for me a froud.

Dear Olebruu,
Thank you for your review. We are a young company so that we need time to improve our service. Please understand for us about problems what you show above.
1. Weather : we cancelled you to join the trip the day before (28th Dec) because we talked about windy. After that you asked to join, we were wrong because of let you join.
2. The speedboat : the capacity is 12 persons in register document. It is the boat with the machine 150HP enough to get the fast speed with 10 persons. Please remember it is the speedboat - not the cruise or yacht.
3. The lunch : please give us a proof what you said disaster. We do not think that a set of fresh seafood BBQ with shrimp, crab, squid, soup and 1 free beer/coke/coconut is not good for you.
4. Please tell me how much will you pay for a speedboat with route 100km+ and a set seafood BBQ for lunch, good snorkeling equipment, life jacket, insurance. Beside, we have the driver, tour guide. Of course we have to pay for them.
We apologized you for our mistake - that we let you join our trip. We should ignore you.
Best regards,
Phu Quoc Speedboat team.

Food!!! Cold food if you like ( not to enjoyable). Free beer or coke No Way!!! we paid everything... The island or not what they are!!! Getting to these island was a nightmare... Coming back was a disaster. Wave over Wave !!! That boat speed like they say.... Sorry but was a unpleasant ride that boat should be in a museum real soon. If you want to really make a bad excursion Join them. Not worth the money so it s a No go!!! for that price in Vietnam.

Thank Natalie for your reviews. You gave us 2 1* review by 1 person. Our target in business is customer's satisfy. But sometime, we will have some not good customer. We are happy to receive your comment. Please be a truth-telling customer. We ignored you to join our trip before because it is not good in condition then you asked to join. Finally, it is our fault.
About food, how the seafood BBQ can be cold. Please have a look at the photos you attached above.
Finally, we are sorry you for your bad feeling because we told truth. Please be honest customer. Thank you

We booked thru their website the night before we took the tour and they responded within minutes and after a few more whatsapp messages our tour was confirmed. We took the Fingernail Island tour for 45 USD per person, lunch and snorkeling equipment included.
The Transport
We were picked up by a van at the hotel on time at around 9 am. There were 7 other people going with us. We drove to the An Thoi port where we boarded the speedboat. Before we sailed we were given life jackets. The boat can accommodate 12 to 15 passengers so we were almost full that day because we were joined by 3 crew members.
I was hesitant at first to wear the life jacket not because I feel like I’m a good swimmer because I’m not but because it is too damn dirty, all of them. If you wanna take a selfie with your life jacket on and post it on IG or FB better don’t because the stain near your neck will surely be noticed. But since everybody else is using it I also wore mine. I really hope they will replace those soon.
Before I booked this tour I already read some negative feedbacks regarding the state of the boat. One guy said, it was very old, unsafe and it should belong to the museum so I know exactly what I’m getting into when I booked the tour. The guy is not lying. The boat is old but in my opinion it is still sea worthy but I also hope they could buy a new boat for this tour.
The Tour and Food
As soon as we settled, the motor started humming and the anchor was pulled aboard then off we go.
Before I continue it is good to note that we were supposed to book a day earlier but when one of the hotel staff heard that we plan to take the An Thoi Island tour he advised us against it, citing strong winds that day and the waves will be bigger. I took his advice but booked this tour that evening nevertheless. The next day is the same, strong winds.
At first people are taking selfies and I’m even using a selfie stick to hopefully document the ride. 10 minutes into the ride, I remembered the advice of our hotel staff. The waves are huge and the winds are strong. 20 minutes into the ride we are all soaked with saltwater including our bags but thankful that we were wearing these filthy life jackets. Everybody seems to be holding on for dear life but nobody is panicking. I am silently calling all saints including Jolly old Saint Nicolas aka Santa Claus to deliver us safely to shores. Lol.
Maybe the reason nobody is openly panicking is because we can see how skilful the guy behind the wheels (if that is what they call it) is. He knows when to speed up and slow down and to me he seems to be reading the waves and calculate his manoeuvres accordingly. Maybe I’m just a newbie but that was one scary ride.
After what seems to be a lifetime (around 45 mins. to 1 hr.) we reached our first destination. The beach is small and surrounded by rocks. There are a few houses nearby and aside from the 2 swings tied to a coconut tree, there’s nothing much to do. The water is full of garbage probably because of the people living there. We took a few dips but immediately came out of the water. After we took our selfies and everything we waited for about 2 hours for the boat to come back and bring us to the next island.
The boat arrived with a new set of tourists who were equally excited as we were 2 hours ago. I silently mumbled, wait for it….
We happily climbed back to the boat, at that point I would rather face the big scary waves than die of boredom in that island.
The next island is probably 15 – 25 minutes away. The beach is bigger this time with more than 10 speedboats and big boats anchored near the beach. This is where we had our lunch.
We bought our lunch from the tour so we don’t have to worry, some of our tour mates didn’t so they bought from the fisherman docked nearby and asked the cooking people to cook for them. I’m not sure how much they paid for the cooking service but I heard they paid 1 million Dong per kilo of shrimp.
The island is, you guessed it right, filthy. There was a pile of garbage nearby and you can smell the stench of rotten seafood.
There were many people and there are a few tables and benches near the beach, our first challenge was to find a place to eat as all seems to be occupied. Our tour guide managed to get some foldable tables and some plastic chairs for us and told us that lunch will be ready soon.
The second challenge is the waiting for the food. It took probably 1 hour before it was served to us. The exact menu for me and my wife that day was 4 clams with some seasoning on top of it, 2 normal sized boiled crabs, a bowl of soup with baby shark, a small plate of vegetable, some seasoning, soy sauce and limes. When I saw it, I remembered another review, this is almost exactly how he described it so again I knew what I was getting.
To my surprise, the soup tastes great and it was served hot. The crab and the clams are not bad either, thanks to the soy sauce, limes and the seasoning. To make the long story short my wife and I ate everything in front of us. So maybe I could consider myself satisfied.
After lunch we did not take a dip we just waited for a few minutes (the long waiting happened before the lunch) for the boat to bring us to our third and final destination, snorkeling.
We travelled for about 20 minutes and stopped probably about 200 miles off the beach of some island, we were told we can snorkel there. Again, based on some feedbacks that I read, someone mentioned that the corals are all dead. True again. There is really nothing to see except for the fishes that were curiously swimming nearby. I’ve been to Coron Palawan and Phuket to know that this is zero compared to those 2 places. So after maybe 15 minutes, I climbed the boat and decided to give it a rest. A few minutes all the other passengers climbed back in and off we go back to the port.
A van took us back to our hotel.
Overall
My feedback is as truthful as possible. I enjoyed the experience and got to spend some time with my wife but there are many things they can improve on. The life jackets, the boat, the lunch and maybe cleaner beach and more lively spot for snorkeling. They have a great staff, our tour guide who can speak English is great and helpful. He made sure we get what we need. The guy who operates the boat seems to be very skilful and trustworthy. I cannot give a high rating but I hope they will try to improve the tour in general.

We read the great reviews and contacted Mr. Thai. He was very friendly and responded promptly to our enquiries by WhatsApp. The trÃp started of well, we were picked up around 10 minutes late; which we did not mind. When we got on there was another family of four with two young kids. We stopped to pick up a couple and another individual. Un año we were 11 customers and the boat driver and the guide.
The trÃp to the boat was pleasant. On reaching the boat we were given Life Jackets.
However, the boat was old and the backseat made of Fiber glass was broken. Unfortunately you have to step on this seat to get in. We reached the first island safely and well. At the second we has our first accident, while snorkling one of us got cut. There was no First aid kit on board, not even a plaster. The Boat driver/captain had to borrow plaster from another boat. Un the meanwhile my family member was feeling sick from the loss of blood and the movement of the boat.
At the the third and final island we stopped for 2 hours and Lunch. When we were boaeding the boat i slept on the Broken chair and have a massive cut which IS accompanied with nasty bruising. I narrowly escaped a serious back injury. Again no First aid kit and we has to make do with what we had.
At our final disembarkation we really had to watch our step as the steel anchor was carelessly left in the way.
The guides and driver were good people and they had the BEST intentons. I really Hope they get a new boat, a First aid kit, They need yo be a bit more careful about the Anchor and broken seats.
I am only leaving this message as I feel its only a matter of time before they have a real nasty accident.
We reached back safe but injured.

I was looking for a speed boat trip in Phu Quoc and I contacted this company on Facebook. They replied to me very quickly, giving accurate information about the trip and the prices. They as well contacted me on the evening prior to the trip to inform me that it wasn’t a good idea to do it due to bad weather conditions. I followed their advice and I didn’t do the trip so I can’t rate the service, but their honesty is a 5/5 and a proof of quality. Really appreciated.

I found accidentally this tour on facebook. There are many island tour agencies in Phu Quoc. But I think this is the best agency. Mr Trung - manager and his team are very friendly. They gave us excellent services. Their boat is morden and clean, high speed but smooth. They know clearly about other islands from small to big in Phu Quoc. So they've been building a lots of amazing island tours so you have more choices depend on time schedules. I highly recommend all you contact him to get a valued trip.
I will come back this place soon and don't forget to book an island tour from Trung. Thanks your team once again.

We had a fantastic time with Phu Quoc Speedboat from start to finish!
The booking process was easy, the company is extremely responsive and helpful. We changed the date with no problems - all requests were happily accommodated.
We were picked up on time, in a modern, well air conditioned vehicle. It was our honeymoon and our lovely guide, Thai, had a bouquet of red roses for me! What a lovely touch. We had a great time on the islands, really scenic, not too much to see snorkelling but some dory’s etc.
There are some negative reviews on here but can only think these are now outdated as we had a 5* experience.
