After exploring several a number of medieval villages in a day, it was time to rest or feet and bodies and check out the Hot Springs. Definitely fun to do. A little tough to find someplace comfortable late in the day due to crowds, but the warm water flowing over our bodies felt great! Expect to smell like sulfur for... More

So, here's the skinny. These pools are a fabulous natural formation, but they are sulfuric so there is a natural smell. You'll see many people covering themselves in mud because apparently the mud here is the most sought after for its healing properties. It can get crowded because it's so popular to visit, but if you can find a place... More

We were very sad to experience how dirty and littered this "free natural attraction" was. The locals seem to have no appreciation for the beauty that this location holds and urinate and litter everywhere. Disgusted!!!!

Really relaxing and definitely feel better afterwards, the smell of the sulphur is very strong ( bit like rotten eggs) but you do get used to it and it doesn't prevent you from enjoying the waters.

Amazing thermal springs and river, we found a less crowded pool up the hill. Water is warm and a fun thing to do for a couple of hours.

Loved it. Amazing place , never seen anything like it . The volcanically heated spa water is blue and meanders through the fields and drops down the side of the building shown in the picture. It ends up in these small pools made of natural rock , with water falling down from one to the other. The falls are like... More

A lot of people. A bit hard to find but keep a lookout for the signs and you'll find it. Slippery and somewhat difficult to get around in the pools. Smelly of course but that's how nature intended it. Be sure not to wear any kind of silver as the sulfur in the water makes the silver brown and ugly.

It took us a while to find where exactly this place was but I will include the picture of the road sign so you know where to turn into. Once you get there, public parking is free and you just walk to the entrance area where there is refreshments and light snacks for purchase and where the bathrooms and showers... More

We went on 2 days, one in the afternoon, one early Saturday morning. In the afternoon we actually took our dog who loved the warm soothing water. The next day we brought chairs and soaked in the pools. I recommend going early morning as we got our choice of pools and were able to get under the waterfalls. There is... More

I read a lot about Saturnia and the natural hot springs before I arrived in Italy. To see this place in person is amazing - the water really is as blue as it appear, and it's more wonderful than I ever imagined! You can smell the minerals as you near the springs, but the smell quickly goes away once you... More
