We visited during the 1960s Christmas being held at the house itself. It was very immersive with traditional 1960s recipes to try e.g. cheese straws and hot toddy minus the alcohol. It was a pleasant day out and walking around the grounds afterwards was refreshing, especially seeing all the winter flowers.

Looked after by the National Trust beautiful gardens and a lovely place to wonder around. Coffee shop toilets and gift shop. Had a great day out will look forward to visiting again.

...just before Christmas. We walked around the gardens and visited the Lode Mill, a working water mill. The gardens are very impressive and extensive. The house is rarely open in the winter. We ended at the gift shop and had lunch in the tea room. There was plenty of variety on offer.

We went for the annual winter lights event. This really does provide another dimension to the always beautiful Anglesey Abbey. Well worth booking for this event in the future.

One of baby's first trips out. Lots of space for young children. Nice gardens and easy walking. Mill is worth a visit as well. Large cafe by the entrance.

I had the chance to visit this property after a visit to Cambridge. I knew that only part of the house was open for Christmas, but it still sounded worth visiting. We started in the garden, doing the winter walk. The winter garden is well worth visiting, we were lucky enough to have a sunny morning. After the winter garden... More

There's something about Anglesey Abbey that ticks all the boxes for me. It's not the best house I've visited and they're not the finest gardens but I just love it. Anytime of year is good from snow drops, to a summers day I'm never disappointed. If I had the money, the opportunity and a few more bits of furniture I'd... More

Just back from our winter walk at Anglesey Abbey. We love the abbey and its grounds and have visited many times before throughout the seasons. But we were a little disappointed with the winter walk, perhaps our own fault for presuming, or maybe misguided... not sure. The lights around the ground were beautiful and we enjoyed the walk, we had... More

Have just returned from visiting Anglesey Abbey - there is something magical about seeing the gardens lit up into the most wonderful kaleidoscope of colours. Children will love the thrilling mystery of walking down a darkened path perhaps helped by a small torch then listening to the gasps of surprise as they are confronted by a blazing red tree or...
