Atmospheric standing stones
Nov 2021
You can park in the woods opposite, then visit the standing stones which are very interesting. Some have cup engravings on them. Further along across the field you come to another stone circle, less atmospheric as it appears to be set in concrete. Apparently they replaced some of the wooden posts with stone to show how it would have looked. I didn't like this one as much as the first standing stones, but it is worth visiting.

Flat old stones in a field with interprative panels
Jun 2021
Climb a style over a wall and walk along a clear path which is uneven in places to reach the stones. Descriptive panels tell the strory. Pair the visit with the other nearby sites.

History lesson time
Apr 2019
This circle of stones have been here for over 5,000 years. This was once the place for ceremonial celebrations of worshiping the god's and matrimonial ceremonial until 19th century when it was then used for pagan rituals.

In Search Of Stone Circle Temples
Sep 2019
On a Whisky tour of Scotland with three friends and we had to get some history under our belts. With an easy carpark nearby, we explored not only the Temple Wood Stone Circle but also the Nether Largie South Cairn and Kilmartin Glen Nether Largie Standing Stones nearby. All are well marked with information placards. You will be hiking in fields that you share with sheep and it can be muddy so I recommend hiking-waterproof boots. Take the time to explore these historic sights.

Worth the Stop
Sep 2019
As Temple Woods is a short distance from the Nether Largie Stones, it is worth a visit. However, there is no parking at the site. As there was no traffic on the single track lane, we pulled over in a wide spot and made a quick visit.

Stone Circle Cairn a must if in Kilmartin Glen
Sep 2019
Loved this place. Some great stone cairns and standing stones. Not many people so you get the impact more. Plan on spending at least a couple of hours here. You can walk and see quite a few cairns and standing stones. If your into ancient artifacts and history this place is a must. Also if your an Outlander fan you will appreciate the standing stones.

Interesting stones
Sep 2019 • Couples
These are a set of standing stones accessed by a short walk over grass. Unfortunately we arrived just after a few minibuses so there was a lot of people milling about plus a tour guide. There is a free car park and information boards. You can easily walk to 3 areas of interest in one go from here including a burial chamber. Nice little excursion and you're allowed to touch and get near everything which is really unusual.
