The Kilmartin museum is a must if you are in the area. The museum is relatively new and its strength is the multi media approach to presentation and learning. The building is well designed offering a walk through the presentation areas and an insight into bronze age artefacts and the history of the Kilmartin area. The museum links to amazing walks to sights that offer access to cairns, standing stones and burial sights. We learned so much from our visit and enjoyed our walk through the local countryside immensely.

This new museum is a must-see if you are in or near Argyll. The layout, exhibits, information boards and staff are all of a very high standard. I've been visiting Argyll for over 30 years and learned a lot that I didn't know.

Read about this on TripAdvisor so went along. Such an amazing valley with so much ancient history you are falling over it. The museum ties everything together with so many precious ,fascinating and ancient exhibits.
Couldn't quite get over how much is actually in this valley, its amazing!
Great walk to various sites starts at the museum too. Don't miss the Churchyard which has a few treasures of its own

Really interesting museum and a wonderful building.
Just a slight issue with the layout - maybe don’t have the wildlife video right at the start as a rather large party who arrived just before us, stood in the passageway and blocked both our view of the screen, and any possible route into the main galleries.

Absolutely inspirational exhibition, with explanations and links through to the monuments and the finds. Interactive stuff for kids of all ages. Loved the jet necklace and the Lady.
