Rented a 4-seater beach buggy for a half day to roam Akamas nature reserve, really good fun. We did not take part in an accompanied safari as we wanted to explore at our own pace which proved to be wise. Scenery is wonderful, beach buggy was noisy but you definitely don't want to use a hire car to explore as most dirt roads are difficult to navigate and damage is almost unavoidable. We rented a Suzuki Jimny for our time in Cyprus just for this part! We spent the better part of a day exploring the peninsula - we didn't go any further than Fontana Amorossa, but definitely recommend getting to the Blue Lagoon early before all the big boats do! We left once they'd arrived as it was noisy and really busy - but so beautiful and tranquil beforehand. We really loved Manolis Bay for swimming - it was tricky to get in and out but worth it! The road is okay in parts but you definitely need a 4x4 or to hire a quad/take a tour as other parts are very rough/steep etc. Don't even think about taking a normal car, it would wreck it for sure. We have done plenty of 4x4 in Australia so were fairly confident, but definitely take your time! The views are incredible - this is truly one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus - we liked it so much more than Cape Greco. It is an unspoilt paradise!…

Water was lovely temperature. We took a picknick basket and sat watching the sea. So beautiful and peaceful end of day. …
