We were picked up by Wayne who was our driver for the day, or should I say The Mud lover.
Wayne was fun and entertaining throughout our day and really made it fun.
I would say that if you have any injuries or bad back this isn’t a trip for you.
The trip consisted of road and off road, even some of the roads are left to be desired. The off road bit you could see Wayne clearly likes and we were bounced about in the back quite a bit.
We were lucky there were 6 in our party and if full of 10 people it would have been a bit different.
Wayne being fun and entertaining, as well as giving us loads of opportunity to take photos and telling us all about the scenery etc it was also interesting.
We stop for lunch which was included, and all in our group enjoyed it.
I can honestly say that it was fun, entertaining and very bouncy and highly recommend wanting to do an island tour.

I’ve taken the Island Safari in Barbados many times and it just keeps getting better! Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this tour offers something new and exciting every time.
Our guide Wayne was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and an amazing driver (his off-road skills were top-notch!). He tailored the experience to exactly what we wanted even adjusting the pace of the tour to suit. It felt personalized, which made the whole experience feel special. The highlight, as always, were the little-known facts he shared about the island’s history and culture—things I hadn’t heard before, evening having done this tour multiple times.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to connect with the island in a fun and unique way!

Our Island Safari tour with Paul was an absolute blast! Paul’s cheerful and engaging personality set the tone for the day, and he really went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience—letting us play our own music and even taking us on a more adventurous route through the off-road tracks when we asked for it!
The off-roading was definitely the highlight of the tour. It was super exciting and fun without ever feeling unsafe. Paul’s extensive knowledge of the island made the experience both educational and entertaining. Even though we’re locals, he managed to show us parts of Barbados we hadn’t seen before, particularly along the East Coast.
The tour was perfectly paced—never rushed or dragging—making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. By the end, I felt a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the island. I can confidently say this tour is a must for both tourists and locals who want to see Barbados from a different perspective.
If you're a thrillseeker looking for something fun and unique, I highly recommend the Island Safari. It was a perfect 10/10!

Quite simply , just an excellent trip around every part of the island and up into hills.
We traveled along both tarmac roads and also across country tracks , sometimes very very bumpy but always safely and with much fun and laughter.
Wayne our driver was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his country, giving us an outstanding commentary by way of an internal PA system. He answered every question that we asked, always in a humerous and friendly way.
I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see and learn more about Barbados and hopefully with Wayne as your driver

Oh Wow! I was on the Carnival Venezia. I had never been on a cruise before or to Barbados so I was not sure what I wanted to do. The 4x4 Island Safari Excursion did not disappoint. The Excursion itself was so much fun. We were taken around all of Barbados to see its natural beauty both in land and coastal in a converted 4x4 truck. The ride itself was awesome. The wind in your face. The feeling of being so close to nature during the off trail portion. It was an exhilarating and freeing feel. We saw the beautiful ocean waves where surf is common to the calmer waters of the Caribbean. We saw plantations, farms, and local townsy areas. What made this experience even better was my tour guide Andre. He was simply amazing. Not only was he humorous, he genuinely wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. He took such pride in Barbados and such pride and joy in sharing his country with us. He was a stunning guide. Knowledgable about almost everything we saw along the way, always willing to answer questions, and made sure everyone felt safe when doing some of the more off road portions of the excursion. He was a lot of fun and would totally ask for him to be your guide! After the safari portion of the excursion we were dropped off at the Beach for a few hours. The beach was so so beautiful! Somehow despite being hot, the sand was cool and did not burn your feet. And order the Fish Cutter! It was the only thing I could find somewhat local and it was delicious. After the beach, Andre came back to where he said he would be to bring us safely back to port. Island Safari was an excellent choice and I am so happy with that decision. I am also just so happy that Andre was the guide I was given as his enjoyment of what he did added to my own. Great tour and great tour guide! Thank you!

We had the best experience with Andre at Island Safari Barbados. He was very knowledgeable, funny and shared spectacular views and the history of the island with us. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone, and we would certainly recommend requesting Andre.

Just returned from a great Island Safari tour to places you simply cant get on coach tours.. Highly recommended by us for sure. Andre our Guide made it an interesting day and was a superb host. Well worth doing this tour if you want to get off road and to quiet beautiful locations on the island.

Me and my wife really enjoyed the day out with Andre from Island Safari. Andre was highly informative and entertaining and really looked after us during our tour of the island. If you're in Barbados, I would thoroughly recommend taking this tour, you won't be dissatisfied....

This was our fourth trip to Barbados and the first time we saw the island. We took the full day tour and enjoyed a half dozen nooks and crannies including the highest point on the island, Salt Lips Beach, and a plenty of plantations. We went places the taxis can't go and places you shouldn't go if you rent a car. We meandered around parts of the island with no road signs —- if you didn't know where you were, you didn't belong. We felt like we belonged because of our driver — André. He’s part historian, part naturalist, part storyteller, and part comedian. He made the tour an epic adventure. Ask for him when you book. And when you go ask him to tell the “Misses Molasses Story.”

This was my most favorite tour of the 4 we did!! Andre is a life long resident of barbados who has so much love, passion, and knowledge about his country. He answered every question we had and was so much fun. Very entertaining and inclusive! Would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Can you accommodate 6 people in one vehicle ?
thanks,

My husband and I would like to do the powerboat snorkel adventure but it appears that I can only book for a minimum of 6 people. Is it possible to book for just the 2 of us? What if there is another group booking for the additional 4?

What time is the hotel pickup for the Adventure Safari? I don't see it listed anywhere on the website.
Written May 24, 2018
We were picked up from the butterfly beach hotel at about 9.30ish but there was a woman in the jeep before us so I think you can choose (I didn't book it myself)
Written May 30, 2018
Hiya. Can you let me know how much the Island Safari Tour cost? Alsom did they do a hotel pick up?
Thanks
Written April 2, 2017
Sorry I'm late with the reply - for the four of us on a private tour including lunch it was US $490 - they picked us up at the apartment in Holetown.
It was the four hour one but it wasn't rushed - and was enough to be honest we also took the "Snack Option" which was plenty of rum punches or soft drinks and crisps / nuts yes. It wasn't bad value to be honest
Hope that helps

Do you pick up at Almond Beach Resort, Speightstown?

Do you pick up at Almond Beach Resort in Speightstown?
How should I dress for this tour?
Written January 8, 2017
As far as I'm aware this is the only place you can pick up the tour, from reception at the Almond Beach Resort. Depends on the weather, maybe trainers shorts and a t-shirt. Sun cream a must as your arms will be exposed to the sun.

I am booked with my family next week. Just had to have my leg put in a cast! It's not painful but I am not hugely mobile. I do have crutches. Can this tour still work for me? I hope so as the family are really looking forward to it.
Written December 22, 2016
Hi Lourdesdaisy,
Guests with limited mobility are not accommodated on these tours so it would be best for you to not risk going on the tour.

Would like to know if my toddler , who is 2 and a bit , able to do this tour and if so what's the fee ?
Written October 16, 2016
I'm a bit late to the party but definitely not suitable for a toddler. Our jeep ride was so bumpy I thought we would roll at one stage. All fun for adults but I had my 5 year old son with me and I was starting to get concerned. I am sure if I asked them to tone it down they would have immediately but it is not the place for a toddler. Fantastic tour though!
