About
A stunning Victorian lodge, superbly located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, in the village of Kincraig between the Cairngorms and Monadhliath mountain ranges. This Kincraig self-catering lodge is equal distance from Aviemore to the north and Kingussie to the south and guests will love the traditional features, combined with 'old world charm' and the benefits of modern facilities. High ceilings and lots of space set this Kincraig self-catering lodge apart from other cottages, and the ground floor has two stunning sitting rooms, one with an open fire and the other with a woodburner, while both have big settees and great views of the mountain ranges from the windows. The impressive formal dining room comes complete with massive square table and tartan dining chairs, and is a perfect place for a special meal prepared in the lovely bespoke fitted kitchen just next door. All the bedrooms in this Kincraig self-catering lodge have lovely views, and benefit from en-suite facilities.

Beautiful and atmospheric place
Sep 2020 • Family
The house was a fantastic place and has a very atmospheric setting, it had everything we needed and the owners welcomed us with lovely home bakes. We celebrated my mum's 60th there from all different age groups and we have agreed to come back together for longer next time, 3 nights was just not enough. Our little furry friends also loved the nice walks around the grounds and the local areas. Thank you to the owners for making our time away so special and making good memories with the family x

Visit with family for my sons 21st
Nov 2019 • Family
Fantastic house to celebrate our sons birthday. Very well equipped. Lovely log burning stove, which was fantastic as we had snow & frost. The walks to Loch Insh are so near the house & the views are just amazing. The owners are near to hand if you need anything & nothing was too much trouble. Hot tub 👍🏻Having a bar attached is just the icing on the cake!

Amazing stay booked immediately to come back!!
Nov 2019 • Family
Amazing cottage! Everything you could need to make for a comfortable stay, clean and tidy, fab kitchen, comfy sofas and a wonderful log burner and hot tub. The owners are super helpful and friendly and we instantly fell in love with Kincraig and Aviemore. Breathtaking scenery that made us book immediately to come back for another break! Our children loved the hot tub which was wonderful on a cold day. One of the most memorable holidays we’ve had and thanks to this not so little cottage (it’s much bigger than it looks) we can’t wait to return.
Thank you for having us Wendy and Mike.

Wonderful place!
Nov 2019 • Friends
We have just returned from a trip to Suidhe for a get-together of friends. There were 12 of us and it was a perfect social space for a large group- big dining table for long chatty meals, cosy lounge with log burner, comfy beds galore and of course the much-enjoyed hot tub. We also managed a lovely local walk round Uath Lochans despite the rain. Hosts were available and very helpful- special thanks to Mike for his expert fire-lighting assistance.

Family gathering for my 50th and my son's 21st
May 2019
We had a wonderful time using the Suidhe Lodge as a base for our family weekend at the end of May. Everyone loved it. They loved their bedrooms with en-suite and there was so much space to suit everyone. The huge dining table was perfect and the two sitting rooms meant we could enjoy our musical instruments in one room and then retire to the other room with wood-burner which made the room so cosy and homely. Perfect. We cooked one night and found the kitchen to be fantastically equipped. We ate out the other night at the Boat House which accommodated our large group. The hot tub at the house was a real treat at the end of the day after walking to Loch Insh to see the Osprey. We also managed a visit to the new Post Office Gallery and Cafe that's just opened in Kincraig (fantastic cakes!). Of course, one of the highlights was a visit to the wee pub next door (which is our favourite in scotland). You won't meet friendlier hosts than Mike and Wendy. If you want a special weekend with family with a fantastic big garden for the children to use up some energy then you'd be hard pushed to find somewhere this special.

Big family holiday
May 2019 • Family
We stayed here over Easter 8 adults and 6 children.
We had a great time, the lodge was perfect for the family fully equip with everything you could need.
Bedrooms where comfortable all the kids loved staying in one room together and the giant bears to watch over them at night.
Having a bathroom with every room was great and the bath was huge !

Kids play area great and they spent most of the time at the house out there. There are also lots of bored games and books for rainy days.
The neighbouring lodge do walk over the drive however we never hound this a problem.

Obviously the hot tub was great, and cannot really be seen by the pub, nor do people In the pub look out !!

The pub was also a fab addition to our holiday and staff most welcoming.

Lots of things to do locally to, I recommend glen more for a day of walking with views to die for.

Fantastic weekend was had at Suidhe Lodge! We went as a large group to celebrate university coming to an end and it was the best accommodation and location! The house itself is great for larger groups with an en-suite in each room and is also kitted out with everything you’ll need. The hosts were great!! Mike met us on arrival and even had the fire all set up and burning away so the house was all cosy. He was very friendly and informative! The hosts were always a text away should their be a problem otherwise we did not see them and left us too it! Hot tub was a great asset. Also the location is perfect only a 5 min drive to Loch Insh where we all spent the day out on the water! Paddle boarding the lot. Not to mention the pub which is the nicest, cosiest pub we’ve ever been too. Are only regret is that we didn’t go to the pub on our first night aswell! You can literally roll out the door to the pub!

Overall a GREAT time was had, can’t thank Mike and Wendy enough!

Lovely place but needs a little updating (cottage)
Apr 2019 • Friends
This review relates to the cottage on the grounds of the lodge.

Amazing location, we would definitely stay in the area again. The cottage was great and ideal for the dog with a fully self enclosed, well maintained and decent size garden, the hot tub was also very nice!

The cottage itself was ample for the 4 of us. Very cozy inside but we found that most of the table tops and spaces were covered with unnecessary knickknacks and we couldn't put anything anywhere. The kitchen needs some updating, we had 4 ovens!! and a very old cooker. The fridge freezer was not much bigger than a hotel mini bar fridge which was inadequate for a cottage catering for 6 people. Lots of pots and pans (too many) but many were very old and unusable, they should be disposed of. Some of the utensils had rust on them.
One of the kitchen cupboards was coming apart and we did not want to open the drawer as we felt the whole thing would collapse.
The mattresses were also very old and soft, I would say probably they needed retiring a few years back! Pillows were also pretty soft and poor quality.

All in all, we had a great time but a little investment is needed to make it an even better place to stay.

Amazing weekend!
Mar 2019 • Friends
Couldn't recommend Suidhe Lodge enough. It's in a fab location, with a lot of activities around about. The house itself is brilliant, one of the best equipped we've stayed in. All of the bedrooms have en suites which is really rare! Hot tub was awesome and private, disappointed we weren't there in the summer to use the bbq! There's a pub literally on the side of the house, and plenty of parking for everyone. Would absolutely recommend renting this for a weekend!
