The Boarthouse came highly recommended for coffee and homebakes. Ha! that was the very least it should be recommended for. The Scenery - Absolutely stunning! Especially on our 1st visit - mid afternoon with the sun lowering behind the trees. The Facilities - Totally absorbing. Plenty to see & do. So much to keep you interested / peak your interest.... I visit Loch Insh every year and it never fails to disappoint. The scenery is stunning and we did a lovely walk alongside the loch. There is a children's play park too. The café is very good although now they do table service rather than self service. Pool table as well! I love visiting this Loch, my favourite in Scotland.

Stayed 2 nights on oct school break. Have stayed b4 so knew what to expect,. Stayed room 22 in the hall, 2 adults and 3 girls 6,9 and 12. As usual spotlessly clean. 2,sets bunk beds and a single ( wee bit hard but still good). Clean towels and plenty of tea, coffee and hit chocolate sachets. We're hardly in... More

Nice cafe/restaurant with good food within a lovely setting. While having your coffee you get a beautiful view over the loch watching yachts, wind surfers, canoeists and the ducks. We also had a cruise round the loch.

Paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, sailboards... They've upgraded the wetsuits to make guests comfortable even in chilly October. Altogether a great adventure holiday destination.

Our daughter had a great week doing her RYA Level 4 with Sam – despite the lack of wind on a few days. Thank you to Sam and all the staff who work at the centre for excellent customer service. We stayed with family so can’t comment on the accommodation. I enjoyed walking the various trails near the centre. A... More

We stayed in one of the cabins which we found to be very comfortable and well equipped. There was a very nice outdoor seating area to sit out and eat (midges allowing!) and a canopied veranda outside the front door which was great for leaving wet clothes, shoes, boots and outdoor equipment etc. Within the complex is a restaurant with... Went kayaking on Loch Insh. The staff were friendly and got us kitted up and out quick. 1 hour on the loch and time for the bar for some fantastic food... I reccomend the burger! Even on a chilly day the wetsuits keep you warm. Good prices too, and they offer so much more. I will definitely be going back.
