Good morning Chenin, thanks for your review. Strange how someone can run into a wall in a wall-free jungle... I checked with the team, who said there was no water at the waterfall that day (as mentioned in our presentation, it's a seasonal waterfall, so can change in a couple of days from full to trickle). Had there been any water, you'd have seen it on the track, and the guides would have stopped, as it's one place where some of them can have a quiet smoke away from the group. We remind them to refrain from this as much as possible, and they would have moved further without any problem, had you voiced your objection, I do it regularly with any smoker in my close vicinity, no hassle, people are quite friendly here, but some lack imagination. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday. About group size, this is high season and the activity is in high demand; we limit our tours to one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so as not to disrupt the lives of our neighbors too often. However the guides normally split the group after the initial couple of kilometers, into sub-groups according to the riders level. Seems on that day two of the most experienced guides were off sick, so the others felt safer together. We do however insist that they limit group sizes in normal conditions.
