Only a few hundred metres long between Le Peninsular Hotel and a row of beach front properties on top of rocks above the beach the other end. OK sand, not especially picturesque backing onto a small tree and grassed area between the beach and the coast road. Busy on weekends with local families. One cafe, Blue Bay Snack bar not recommended by many and Le Bouganville restaurant which is OK as long as they're not busy when you can expect a wait for drinks and food.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 27, 2023

Our two skippers/hosts were Wesley and Manuel who were excellent…really knowledgeable and funny. Great day out exploring the 5 islands (and snorkelling), with a really nice lunch, followed by the waterfalls. This day out is a must when visiting Mauritius.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 29, 2023
- Benjamin JForest Side33 contributionsI say, I say go there.Don't worry, I may sound crazy, but I swam during sunset. You can see fish, marine life within bouys. You have McDonald's Bo' Vallon nearby for lunch or dinner. It's not to far from the airport so can be experienced before a goodbye to Mauritius. Sand is so soft that if you're dating, you can feel the softness of the sand whilst hugging and kissing.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 12, 2024

Water is clear and warm, beach area clean. The side of the main beach is a combination of sand/lava rock. Easy fish spotting from shallows.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 28, 2024

There are plenty trees with grass underneath - which is perfect for sitting on. Also benches and tables. We visited on a week day and there were a number of locals as well as tourists enjoying the ocean – which is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Ideal for a fantastic beach experience.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 16, 2024

Can also take a glass bottomed boat trip (reasonably priced) for a trip to see coral and fish, can also snorkel from boat if you wish.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 22, 2024

Bit crowded as it was a Hindu festival weekend with many extended families and small tents on the beach. We walked down a short path from where we were staying and swam frequently in the cordoned-off area. The bay is beautiful with the island in front; worth staying a few nights and exploring surrounding areas too. One of the best public beaches.

We booked this excursion with Kamal at our hotel Anantara Iko. It was the most amazing day, our skipper was JP Jon Paul he was very professional but also great fun. We visited beautiful islands on the east coast, snorkelling and just chilling on beaches. We stopped for an amazing lunch of lobster, chicken and fish which was all included and then we went inland to a waterfall and we also saw some monkeys. It was the best day ever and another great memory from this lovely island of Mauritius.
Value for money for the trip was excellent

We spent Christmas eve 2022 on the Mauritius 5 Islands Tour via Aqua Solei and Summertimes.
Our guides were John-Paul and Sammy who were absolutely fantastic.
Really energetic, great sense of humour and 'Jungle Juice' provided was brilliant too.
The tour itself was really informative, we got to snorkel, visit an island with a lighthouse, lovely BBQ lunch on a beach and visit a water fall amongst other things.
I'd highly recommend doing this tour if you get the chance.
Bring and apply lots of sun cream as the wind, water and speed make you forget about the heat!

Blue Bay is a lovely bay with a nice beach and swimming area. There are a few spots to eat and drink. Plenty of space to sit with friends and family on the beach or adjacent grass area. There are plenty of boats, both glass bottomed and speed boats to enjoy days out on the water. The bay is on a corner ain in September the wind was hectic going up the coast. We used a local taxi (Uncle Joseph) from the Pennisula Hotel to take us across the South of the Island for the day and also used the local bus to take us to London Way (Supermarket)

We booked our tour with Tui on Aqua Soleil 5 Island cataspeed boat tour.
Other than our beautiful hotel, this was the highlight of our stay in Mauritius.
Such a wonderful day.
If you are lucky enough to get Fabrice as your captain with help from Clovis and Emanuelle then you are in for an amazing day. The fun these 3 gents have all day is contagious!
Informative trip with great local knowledge.
Snorkeling was incredible.
Be prepared to enjoy the music fun and laughter along with 'jungle juice' beer or soft drinks.
A BBQ lunch on a stunning beach, this trip is a must if you are visiting Mauritius.

i would know how to arrive from mahebourg to pointe d'esiny?
Written January 1, 2017
So you were arriving on the island with luggage. Don’t read the answer above that said to walk because it’s 30 minutes. It’s hot your Plano likely be coming in at 10:30 in the morning and by the time your reach your destination you might have melted. Arrange a cab at the airport or arrange a driver through the hotel that you’re staying at. This would be maximum Rs.850I do recommend if you arrange a ride be absolutely sure to make sure that you give the driver the correct time of your arrival and plan that you will be in line for at least an hour going through customs so do not have them waiting around all that time it will piss them off and they will have to pay longer for parking at the airport. There is a bus from Mahai Bourg bus terminal. It is bus number 46 to blue Bay, and if you tell the driver where you need to get off he may be able to let you off closer to your destination. But that means you have to get from the airport to the bus terminal.

I would like to know how much it cost for the boat trip from blue bay fo l'ile au cerf pls
Written December 22, 2015
Hi there,
It really depends what you want included in your boat trip and your budget - both time and money . . .
There's a 7 hr catamaran trip. One such cruise departs at 09:00 from the Preskil Beach Resort’s Jetty located at Pointe Jerome on the South East of Mauritius. Expected arrival time back is 16:30, and depends on tide and winds. Lots of inclusions - snorkelling, lunch, the world class sanctuary of Anahita before dropping you off on the famous white sand bank of Ile aux cerfs. After spending some time on Ile aux Cerfs, you will re-embark on the catamaran and sail back to the Hotel’s jetty. Once on board tea and coffee is served as well as slices of cake, not to forget the open bar that remains open.
Lunch includes:-Paste Salad
Coleslaw Salad
Assorted meat platter consisting of: chicken, fish fillet, lamb brochette, beef brochette, pork sausage
Baked yoghurt with assortment of toppings
Non-stop supply of all drinks is offered throughout the day including: Mineral Water, Juices (selection of tropical juices), Soft Drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite & Fanta), and a selection of alcoholic beverages: Beers, Rhum, Red Wine, Rose Wine and White Wine.
Gear onboard: Snorkeling gear including flippers, mask and tuba as well as the colorful pool noodles is available for you to enjoy.
What to bring: We suggest bringing swimming suit, beach towel, sun cream, cap or hat as well as sun glasses.
This trip costs 59 Euros for adults and 39 Euros and must be booked. Unless you go for a luxury trip, this is roughly the cost point you can expect.
Other types of trip include:-Catamaran Cruise to Ile Aux Cerfs from two possible departure points: Blue Bay or Trou d'Eau Douce
Budget / Standard tours to Ile Aux Cerfs trip by motor boat
Pirate boat trip Ile Aux Cerfs in the spirit of the pirates
Customised Half day / Full day trip to Ile Aux Cerfs going by car and motor boat / speed boat
You can also go on a customised luxury trip to Ile Aux Cerfs including: helicopter flight trips, luxury exclusive speed boat, private catamaran trips and even a yacht cruise
Something for every budget.
I definitely advise going on an organised trip NOT going alone.
