This US cemetery gave me a story of the sacrifices many young men have made for our world during WWII. This memorial is very well done and I was impressed at how they honored each soldier buried there on their birthdays. This really touched my...More

I felt ashamed that though I'd been to Firenze many times before, I'd never taken the time to go visit the American Cemetery in Firenze until now. Guide books don't talk much about this and after visiting several of the American Cemeteries outside of the...More

Extremely well kept grounds. The ranger was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Was our second visit, but my sister' first. Very sobering experience.

Very moving site dedicated to those who fought to defeat fascism. One of many WWII sites in Italy. See recent guidebooks for descriptions of other cemeteries, monuments, and war museums.

Everyone from the U.S. visiting Florence should visit the Florence American Cemetery and Memorial which is the final resting place of nearly 4,500 U.S. servicemen. Most of those buried here are from the Fifth Army who died in the fighting that followed the capture of...More

The setting is quite serine and very emotional. It is kept in marvelous condition by the Italian Government and the sacrifice of these men will always be remembered by virtue of this site. Come spend some time with our fallen Hero's! You will not regret...More

WE SPENT TIME HERE LOOKING FOR SOLDIERS WHO WOULD HAVE DIED SAME DAY MY FATHER WAS WOUNDED AND CAPTURED. We found none of his buddies. Just like Normandy, this is a beautiful tribute to our fallen soldiers. It is solemn and clean. The 70 acres...More

The cemetery is very close to Florence (less than 10 miles). We had arranged a private tour and our tour guide made the stop on the way to the Chianti wineries. You could take a taxi or the bus.
