We have been enjoying Petra Experience with the passionate and professional guide Elena. After the tour of the grapes, caves and production, the group of 11 friends had a great wine taste with lunch. Marvelous experience that I strongly suggest!!

The architecture is amazing. Its architecture is one of a kind. Its impressive and definitely Italy everyone near Suvereto must go. We tried great wine and had an amazing and very interesting time there. Unfortunately the tour was in Italian but Eduardo the guide was great and spoke to us in Spanish whenever he could.

Wine tour and tasting
Oct 2018 • Friends
We arrived somewhat early and were permitted to wander the grounds for a while before the tour started. Spectacular architecture, despite the odd crack appearing in a few places.
The tour started with a brief history of the vineyard and the construction ideas. Subsequently we toured almost the entire complex gaining insight into the process of vinification.
One highlight is the 25m long tunnel hewn into the bare rock additionally highlighting the name of the vineyard.
The tasting was well organised accompanied by a light snack, unfortunately there was no merlot available for tasting.

Worth the visit, the viognier 2017 is quie delicious

Beautiful modern winery

We had a great private tour of the grounds and the facility. Our guide was very knowledgeable and lead us through the tasting and 4 course lunch. The wines are quite good and priced well. We would have purchased but were told we could not have it shipped so we did not get to buy. Hopefully we can find some of their wines stateside.

Wonderful tour of a sustainable vineyard
Sep 2017 • Couples
Chiara took us on a wonderful tour. She is one of the chemists who makes the wine and her knowledge of the vineyard and wine making process was deep. Petra is a beautiful sustainable vineyard which is 70% female employed. The vineyard is designed to be energy efficient, from the solar panels, to the shades to cool the factory, to the doors at the top of the hill to allow the grapes to be dropped directly into tanks.
We also had a wonderful lunch of local wild boars with paired wines.

Amazon building, great tour and excellent wines. Remember to book time in advance, you can not just come in from the street.

Nouveau winery
Aug 2015 • Friends
It was our first visit of a wine yard. We had no expectations except a wine taste and a bit of information.

We started out with a tour which took about 1 hour. The guide was very well in giving the details of the structure, wine yards, start of this winery and so on. Very clear and took you into his world from start till where the winery stands now.

Afterward we booked a lunche which was set up for the four of us. The rest of the group got the tasting at another table whith some bread, olive oil which they also produce and some fine cold cuts of pork which is also produced by themselves.

Our lunch was homemade and so fresh! Everything was tastefull and more than enough. We got several cold cuts, mozzarella, tomato, salad from tartly which was suberp, artichokes, olives, ham with pineapple. After this lunch we were served fresh watermelon and sweets. Of course everything with the wine tasting which we could keep pouring our glass Full as we desired. One bottle which was not opened was opened at request, he did not made a fuss about it which was really professional. This was one of their expensive wines which we ultimately bought with some other bottles.

Go and enjoy the new architecture of this beautiful winery and book a lunch! Total cost tour and lunch €200,-

The wines are the same prices as in the local supermarkets so just buy the ones you like right away!

Definitely the most beautiful winery I have seen, eco-friendly and great design
Jul 2015 • Friends
Petra is not your average winery. It is as impressive for its unique architecture, eco-friendly commitment, and brilliant planning as it is for its delicious wine. As our guide explained to us (in perfect English), Petra was created not just to sell wine but to sell wineries. Petra's creator implemented some technologies there so he could show and sell them to other wineries, and I think he has been very successful. It was really impressive. The tour group was very small which was nice and afterwards we had a tasting that included generous portions of four wines, olive oil, bread, cheese, and meats (including what our guide called the best prosciutto in the world and I don't disagree). The wine prices ranged from 10€-50€. We bought many bottles and left extremely happy and full.

For us it was a very short drive but I think even if it were further away I would want to make the trip. If I am ever back in the Tuscan region I will definitely come back to Petra! Most unique wine experience I have ever had.
