About
A technical historical monument, the steam-powered Brewery of Lobec near Mseno is a witness of the five-hundred-years old tradition of beer brewing in the Kokorin region. The first written reference to the brewery dates back to 1586, while the Renaissance core of the existing structure was built around 1600. Between 1894 and1897, Rudolf Cicvarek, a lawyer and owner of the estate, had the original modest artisanal manufactory - once possession of the local gentry of Veznik - rebuilt to become a steam-powered production unit. The project was authored by a renowned engineer, Johan Rosenberg. Since 2007, the premises are possessed by RIOFRIO architectural platform and the exemplary redevelopment and revival of the brewery as a tourist attraction of the Kokorinsko protected landscape area is in progress. The brewery was declared a cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture in 2009...

We learned a lot about history, physics, biology and chemistry. We discovered a number of mysterious corners and learned almost everything about the beer brewing process. Many thanks to Mr. Prouza!

Came here on a Sunday lunchtime after a walk from Mseno. A lovely restored brewery and restuarant, really busy and great beer and food. We loved it so much we bought a t-shirt!

Had a great time staying in the loft-conversion apartment at the brewery. The apartment was warm, clean, well-equipped and spacious. Tried all six of the brewery’s excellent beers and really enjoyed the guided tour of the restored brewery and the micro-brewery. I recommend it to all.

A unique place to spend a holiday - very nice accommodation, friendly staff and cuisine that will blow your mind! The region Is beautiful full of potential for hiking. And of course the beer!

Great place, very friendly staff and wonderful service. Tour around the brewery was super interesting and we enjoyed all the details and the history as well as technology of making the beer. We absolutely recommend to visit, taste the beer and traditional Czech food 👍🤩👍

Zrekonstruováno s architektonickou precizností, skvělé pivo (a to jsem nepivař), parádní jídlo, ochotný personál, milý majitel. Nenechte si s ním ujít prohlídku, to je teprve zážitek! / Very special and cosy, perfect beer (even if I usualy do not drin beer), super food, willing staff, nice owner. Do not miss the guided tour with him!

We had a splendid time in Lobec brewery. I can only recommend.
The main buidling is unique with carefully renovated historical details. They offer cool accommodation in apartments with modern equipment, very reasonably priced.
We have also enjoyed very interesting and detailed guided tour led by the owner self.

Lobeč is one of the rare places where you see how enthusiasm and dedication of the owners has created something truly exquisite. They have great beer, food and nicely designed apartments.
The guided tour through the brewery is amazing in describing the history of the place and the technical uniqueness of the original production. Not to be missed.

Recommended for visit during trip or way to Bezdez castle. Very nice local craft brewery with delicious beer.
