We did this trip as a group of 5 - as the parents we really enjoyed the snorkeling - warm clear sea, lots of fish and coral, great equipment, lovely lunch, professional friendly crew.
Our 21 year is a qualified diver but we had a 20 and 16 year old who had never dived before. They did the intro to diving course. They were both nervous but John was fantastic and had them happily diving in no time.
John was very thorough and I felt really comfortable sending my children diving with him. Thanks for a great day!

Hi Lynne, we really enjoy reading reviews like yours that include a whole family, we really appreciate it. John had a great day instructing your children, it gives him a real buzz showing the wonderful marine life around Samui. Next time your family is in Samui maybe we could get your husband and yourself to try scuba and who knows you could become a family of divers. Hope to see you again in Samui soon.

I have dived in Thailand for several years with various companies but this was my first dive with Dive Tribe Samui and I was not disappointed. No complaints what so ever regards advice, staff equipment and most importantly the dive.
I was in Samui for a couple of weeks at the end of January. Having spoken to various other divers both on Koh Tao and Samui, I was well aware that conditions recently were not the best and visibility at various dive sights was not good. Having popped into various Dive Shops, Dive Tribe was the only company that were honest and offered the best advice and told me to call or pop in every couple of days conditions were changing continuously - a big plus. From experience some companies in Thailand will take your money irrespective of conditions.
I opted to dive at Sail Rock which I have dived previously and really enjoyed. I dived with Liam who has several years experience diving in Thailand, and this was very evident with his knowledge of various dive sites. Another big plus was the speed at which we got to Sail Rock - only 45 minutes from Samui with plenty of space on board and refreshments plenty, all with a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
I managed to see plenty of marine life during the 2 dives - Chevron and Yellow Tail Barracuda, Trevally, Giant Grouper, Trigger Fish, shoals of Fusiliers amongst others.
Dive Tribe Samui is located in Samui Dive Resort in Bophut.
Thanks to Liam and Tom for all your advice and a fantastic days diving. I look forward to diving with you again soon. Wished I was there a while longer and managed a few more dives.
Cheers

A great days diving with Sami Dive Tribe. I called at the office which is well placed at Bophut Fishermans Wharf (Walking Street) and was impressed with the friendly and helpful advice I was given. I booked a days diving and experienced a well organised, very informative and very professional trip, which still had loads of dive camaraderie and plain old enjoyment and fun. Dave my guide was excellent and knew the waters well. I feel like I've made new friends there and look forward to further visits. Highly recommended.

I kind of squeezed in the dives during my family vacation. Was there best decision I did. I had the best time and if I have the time I must definitely want to go there again. Good and thorough instructors.

Hi Anders, thank you for taking the time to post a review, we really appreciate it. I do remember the fun you had during and after you had finished your course. John said that you were a easy student to teach so we will see you next time in Samui to further your education.

I've been to Samui 3 times now and used Samui Dive Tribe this time. I've used other dive companies before and not bothered with a review!
I had to with this outfit. They are really the best on the island, an instructor to suit all walks of life, fantastic dive equipment with a super fast boat, others can take 3-4 hours to get to a dive site, these are all within the hour. You're there first and have time to yourself before others arrive.
They catered for 5 learners and myself. Nothing was too much trouble and we were really looked after.
Liam is the owner and such a great guy, if he doesn't know it, it's not worth knowing below the waves.
Super safe and fun times had with all the team. Thanks for a great trip Dive Tribe, see you NYE 2015!!

I did a couple of days diving with these guys last year.
Great group of people. :)
Liam on the counter was helpful and informative with dive site choices and planning. Very thorough and professional approach.
The dive team on the day were also very professional while still retaining a good sense of fun and humour.
Dive sites were spectacular and vis was pretty good on both days.
Highly recommend using these guys if you are planning dives on Samui. Much more professional than the other dive stores I investigated.

I had two days diving with Samui Dive Tribe and loved every minute of it, the water was warm and clear, sooo many fish to be seen it was incredible. I took my GoPro and recorded the experience to relive my time at a later date. We went to Sail Rock and the visibility was quite good above the thermoclines, lots of fish and corals, at one stage I rotated 360deg and was surrounded by a wall a fish.
Big thanks to Liam and the team for making everyone feel welcome and comfortable, it was a wonderful diving experience that I wont forget, cant wait to return and do it all over again.

Yes no license is necessary, there is a one day experience called Discover Scuba Diving designed for people without experience. Youll work in a very small group with a skilled instructor who'll get you diving with the fish! Please visit our webpage to book.

Hi Sam S,
While traditionally early December is the end of the monsoon season, from mid month the weather improves. the last couple of years we have had some fantastic diving conditions early December.
I cannot promise it will perfect conditions if you have the a choice of days you can dive I am sure we will be able to take you out diving. In the last week we have seen several whale sharks. check our Facebook page.

I will be in Koh Samui June 11th - 20th, 2016. I am Advance Open Water certified with more 30 dives all over the world.
I am looking for the best possible chance to dive with whale sharks and possibly sharks.
Do you recommend a specific day and/or place to go out with Samui Dive Tribe to do this?
John B
Highton, Australia48 contributions
Hi, your best chance to see a whale shark is at Sail Rock, this is the dive site that they most frequently visit in the Gulf of Thailand, we go there 3/4 days per week. They also visit Chumpon Pinnacle which we go to twice a week.
If I have your email or facebook contact I can send you a link to our Youtube channel to chekout the whale shark we have taken videos of.
You can also stay at our resort in Samui and if you go to our website you can take advantage of our package prices at
samuidivetribe
If you have any other questions I will be please to help.
