Chantara is a traditional asian sailing junk boat. Join Chantara's regular tour cruise around Koh Phangan or all around the archipelago of Koh samui for a private cruise. Chantara is a wooden boat built with teak wood and provide all the modern comfort you can expect. relaxing day... sometime that's enough

Overall a positive experience. The food, drinks and activities were top. We weren't lucky to have enough wind, so are trip was completely done by motor. This wasn't really a problem. We were happy we had taken something against sea-sickness, that was necessary.
We only missed "a connection" with the crew. We are native Dutch speaking but speak fluently French and English. There were a lot of native french speaking guests and our captian (also frensh) was connecting with them. There was also someone of the crew who connected with german people. They certainly entertained their guests, but we feld "between groups". Certainly not a problem, but having a connections with owners (from activities or restaurants), makes the experience more personal.
We certainly recommend this activity during your visit at Koh Samui!

We are sorry but the boat is too heavy and we are not able to go only by sail even with a strong wind we would never be able to follow a program, it would take few days to go around Koh Phangan. I'm sorry that you fell between groups and that the crew was not more available for you. Glade that you still enjoyed the trip. Best regards, Eric

Well worth it!

What an amazing trip. Good timing 11am- 7pm. We were the only English couple which wasn’t an issue however massive thanks to Chris for giving us lots of advice and information regarding the trip in English. 1st stop snorkelling around a coral reef to the north of the Island and the second stop being a beautiful beach. The winds on the east of the island were strong and therefore not very good for sailing in so we stayed in the West so it was not a “tour around the island” but the crew did their best to ensure we had a great time. We were fed lots and lots of times and free soft drinks throughout the trip. Well recommended. Thanks again Chris and all the crew involved! Will recommend this to anyone visit Ko Samui :)

Great experience

Thanks to the whole Chantara crew for the special and unforgettably beautiful day. In particular I want to thank Chris, the german guide in pirate costume, who led through the day in entertaining and easy going fashion. The boat is awesone and so is the food. At times I felt like I was part in pirates of the caribbean. I even took the trip twice.

Relaxing Cruz, good snorkeling

It was a very long, very relaxing boat ride. I wish we would’ve been able to do more sailing instead of having the engines blasting the whole time. However, that is a small inconvenience. Everything else is really quite nice and I had a wonderful time.

Great day out

Had a wonderful sail on the Chantara. The crew really looked after us all day, seemed to be never ending food opportunities. The Junk herself is really beautiful as is the scenery.

Really enjoyed the snorkeling too and the beach was beautiful as promised.

Amazing experience

Amazing experience for a day. We had a tour around koh phangan which was awesome.

The captain and their staffs set in place an extraordinary atmosphere and provided us the best service we had so far in our journey in Thailande.

Special note: the food was great and allowed us to experience good Thai food.

We had a great day going from Koh Samui to Ko Pha-ngan. The crew were friendly and efficient, explaining the trip and ensuring our safety. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed cocktails served to us at our seats. Would thoroughly recommend this trip! We had a great day!

A great way to sail the seas

We had a wonderful day with Pirate Eric and his crew. A chance to snorkel, swim in the ocean off the junk, land on the island beach and explore and fish on the way back to Koh Samui. A beautiful Thai lunch, as many soft drinks and water as you wanted throughout the day and a bar if you wanted to buy some alcohol. A fun day all up you choose what you want to do, or not. We had a brilliant time. Thank you Eric and you happy crew.

Wouldn't go again...

The ship is nice and comfortable. You have enough place, they offer soft drinks often and the lunch was really delicious. But I really didn't like how Marco (the guy in charge) was treating us. I don't know if that was because we are not French or German couple or why, but he was so unpleasant with us (with French and German group he was great, completely opposite attitude). Just one simple example - first he was explaining the tour we will do in German in detail and making lot of jokes, than he was coming to us (looking pissed) explaining us in one minute everything and giving us orders - do NOT that or that... and like that all day...
I can understand that you can't like all your clients, but you should try to stay professional. I didn't feel comfortable, so I wouldn't have another trip with them.
