Just to walk beside the sea with nice local bars and each end of the promenade, in the sun - easy parking and very clean - what's not to like?

One of the few beaches in Madeira but nice as you can walk into the sea. Sand was quite stoney so we wore some protective shoes so as not to cut feet.

This is a very pretty harbour and marina with a man made beach. When we visited it was very quiet, you can go whale and dolphin watching or big game fishing or just soak up the atmosphere in a harbour cafe. Worth the visit.

Calheta Beach is a small man made beach next to Calheta marina. Today it would be the venue for a wedding.

We swam in the sea. It was chilly but once you're in it's ok. It was actually warmer than the hotel pool
