Madeira island is a nice place to observe cetaceen (whales and dolphins) and we are able to go out all year long when the weather allows. Till now 28 species have been observed in our waters. Our mission is to provide clients with a special experience raising awareness and understanding of the entire marine biodiversity of Madeira region. Our trips start in Calheta, the harbour more in the southwest of Madeira. You can choose from two different vessels: "Ribeira Brava" our tradicional fishing boat or "Stenella" our "state of art" speedboat. If you want more information you can find our Info-Center in the Marina in Calheta or contact us by phone or email

This is a fantastic company, ethically minded and caring about the ocean and everything that lives in it. Fantastic morning swimming with dolphins about 3 miles out from Caletta beach. After a safety talk you are kitted out with life jackets and snorkel gear and...More

This was our third outing with Lobosonda, this time we chose the Stenella. We saw lots of dolphins, at on point we were surrounded by them. Wonderful experience a shame we never saw a whale but nature does not always supply.

I took the opportunity to sail with Lobosonda on one of my days whilst holidaying in Madeira. The company appears to have a good environmentally conscious philosophy which is important to me. I took the trip on the Ribeiro Brava, the restored 50 year old...More

Very helpful with our booking - made it work for us at short notice. Our guide was great, as were the skipper. And the spotter succeeded in finding us a pod of dolphins which swam in our bow wave for some time, and then a...More
