Explore Portugal’s Madeira region on this 8-hour tour from Funchal, including round-trip transport. In Calheta village, visit a sugar cane factory to find out more about how the sugar is made. Then go to a mini farm in Prazeres, and see many of the animals, and enjoy views of the countryside. Before your tour comes to an end, also make a stop at Estreito de Câmara de Lobos.

Calheta is a town on the west side of Madeira, famous for its warm climate, exotic vegetation, lakes & waterfalls, deep valleys & mountains and also home for some of the best walking trails and Levada walks in Madeira. It's trully a unique experience where I'll introduce you to my favourite places on the island.

Interesting to follow the display and interactive information about an old and traditional industry. Local, free and with a shop to sample potential purchases. If your staying close by, wander round for a visit. Our hotel was offering a charge with guide!

This is a working factory. The tour is not accompanied by a guide but there is a good video at the end that probably answers your questions.
