The theme park concentrates on the information about Madeiran geology and history of its people. In the middle of the park there are typical houses with open fire place in the kitchen, just the way it was in the past. It may not be interesting...More

This place is a “themed” park, giving a history of the geography, geology and culture of Madeira. Well laid out and informative it was built by the Madeiran government to improve tourism on the north side of the island. Information is clear and detailed, but...More

First i need to start by saying that many people seem to get confused by what a theme park is, confusing this for an Amusement park (disney and alike) which it is not, This Theme Park is definitely doing its job as an educational centre...More

Contains more of Madeiran life than we saw almost anywhere else, you just have to ignore the 12 foot high marzipan doll! There were embroiderers, weavers, cane workers and bread makers all busy but happy to talk - mostly in English. We didn't have time...More

So, unlike the people who conaidered the park 'very bad', for me the lack of other visitors is not a problem! Our visit was on a rainy dat and we were probably the only ones there, but so what? Skip the train, unless you've had...More

Small, low key tourist attraction with no rollercosters or similar. Nice insight to Madeira history but could be a little more informative. Couple of rides, one a 'boat trip' through history of islands discovery and exploration. Other is simulator ride complete with moving seats. Outside...More

We visited out of season so the atmosphere wasn’t brilliant. Worth a visit though and interesting. We enjoyed the trip.

Nice picturesque village and ancient houses. TIP! Do NOT miss a small family bakery Delícias da Bia in Santana village (it is not on Tripadvisor) and buy queijada da maracuja which is very local and unique pastry you wont find anywhere else

The park is rather small but very imformative. There weren't a lot of visitors which made it nice to have a little stroll. The activities are somewhat strange but our 3 year old loved every bit of the park. Nice playground in the park.

Since we were there out of season, it's difficult to give a proper review. We were practically alone in the park. Staff was just sitting staring at their mobile phones, even though there was plenty of weed to remove from the paths. Nice lunch at...More

Don't know where you're setting off from but Santana well served by main roads and park signposted once there.
