Whilst the place is situated on a major tourist route, I hoped to learn a bit more about trout farming. Some basic narration is present, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

There were several segregated pools holding trout in different stages of development.
There is a coffee shop adjacent that has a specialty coffee drink that includes Madeira wine with a lemon twist. I felt the addition of the wine ruined the taste of good coffee, but, ah, the experience is what matters.

Just a simple trout farm. We walked around it for about 10 min. Worth stopping if you're planning other activities here, such as Levada walks.

Was looking forward to this greatly. I have often heard about the wild exptic flowers of Madeira. There was nowhere to park and too many slow moving elderly people from England who smelt of urine. The flowers were unexceptional. If I want to see a hydrangea and airiolas and listen to Margret and Harold talk about how they’re not a patch on the ones in Marbella, I’d sit around Luton airport. There were only 2 toilets

This place is set in the nice nature and I can understand the purpose of it. We spent there approx. 10-15 minutes, the gate was opened and no entrance fee paid. We could walk through it without a guide. We saw many tanks with trout of different sizes.

Cute and collected, but definitely a very reduced visit to go there specifically.
The path is clean, there are various tanks with trout in the various stages of their growth.
I think the whole visit lasts between 15 and 20 minutes.
A short walking distance away other routes begin, one of them very easy, which can accompany this short route, which alone does not make much sense.

For those who like aquariophilia, aquaculture is also interesting. I ⁇ seeing the breeding in a nursery of rainbow trout.

Well, simple and small but interesting.
10 15 minutes is enough to visit the aquicula post and know the creation and function of the same.
There are several tanks with several trutes of various sizes.
The entrance is super affordable worth the money of the entrance - I would say it is not worth going on purpose however in the same place has the trail of the counters- so it can be a 2 in 1.

In a beautiful environment, worth a stop. Beautiful levada, next to a small garden, not far from a beautiful little chapel

As part of the Eastern Tour organized by Feeling Madeira Tours & Walks, our mini-bus made a stop in the Ribeiro Frio (Cold Stream) Natural Park.
-
This place in the forest is very popular. There is a trout farm with its forest house, a beautiful little chapel, forest trails leading to levadas (traditional irrigation canals), but also a restaurant, a café and a few souvenir shops.
-
Here, nature is beautiful. Undergrowth populated by friendly, slightly wild birds with a robin shape, yellow ocher belly, blue head, moss green and gray back, anthracite tail variegated with blue.
-
The flora abounds in tree ferns, rhododendrons, blue bugloss, chamomile-like flowers, erections (wall daisies), ivies. . .
-
Ribeiro Frio promises you beautiful hikes along the levadas.
