Better than Expected
Oct 2020
The operation was fully functional when I visited. A guide was offered but I toured without one. It is very interesting to see firsthand the process they use. Each room is open and you can view comfortably. There is also a garden in the back that is well kept and maintained.

Great work. Inspiring and nice
Jan 2020 • Family
This is a must see on Barichara. Brave women working their craft, the highest quality paper ever. In this place you can see the whole process and how these women turn natural fibers into paper. They also design and make paper jewelry, note books and many other things. They are organized in a Not for Profit Foundation that also works with children from the Barichara region to teach them skills on paper making among other. Great work, high social impact and environmentally efficient methods. Not to miss.

Paper making Demo
Nov 2019
Whilst wandering around the town we called into this place to see how paper is made. We had a demonstration on the whole process. Quite interesting. An opportunity at the end to purchase products.

Paper making
Dec 2017 • Friends
The tour begins in a small garden where the plants used in the process are shown. Next the process is explained and you can try making a sheet. Women from the area make and dye this paper for sale and there if a small shop with interesting products.

A must in Barichara
Sep 2016 • Couples
Very interesting place to visit. Local ladies work many ways to make paper and ended up with beautiful books, lamps, paper, etc. The house is also very nice, clean and well organized.
One of the ladies gives you the tour and shows you the process. They even have a garden at the back with all the plants that they used to make paper and is beautifully made!! It was a shame that the books that I wanted to buy were not there...Maybe they can have a bit more to sell to the visitors.

Great community enterprise, great experience
Jul 2016 • Friends
One of our tour group had an interest in paper making, so we visited this small community enterprise and found a real gem.
For a small fee, you enjoy a tour of the process of papermaking from the harvesting of the pique plant to the final product, and get to make some paper yourself. The tour is all in Spanish, but don't be deterred, it is a hands-on experience rather than a lecture, enjoyable and informative for a non-Spanish speaker.
Then enjoy a tour of the garden of various paper sourcing plants, including even a cannabis plant! And spend some time in the paper shop, finding a perfect set of paper for your "special occasion" correspondence.
Great value and very friendly people. It is a real community enterprise too, so don't this one if you're in Barichara.
