If you're hoping to explore the waters of Gran Canaria don't miss this top value snorkeling excursion, complete with equipment, lunch, and even an open bar included. Beyond the fantastic views of the cliffs and sea, this tour is truly about snorkeling, since your destination is a protected beach where you can snorkel at your leisure. After exploring the undersea world, enjoy a Spanish lunch before heading back to port.

I think it is worth the drive to see this, but you should plan other things too on the way. If you come from the Mogan area you can stop at the great road "Restaurante de las Canadas" on CG-200 for a meal or drinks before driving down to the cute village Venegueta with some very nice houses and gardens. There you can see the cliffs from afar. Then get back up on the road CG-200 again and you will soon get to the rocks. There is a juice stand with fruit vegetables and other local products, especially cactus based, and parking space. You might like to spend about 10-30 minutes here.

It's certainly worth the drive up here. The views are incredible and at one point we were almost in the clouds. Lots of places to stop and take photos and quite a few bars/restaurants along the way.

Sunday 23rd September and we were driving from Melonaras via San Nicolas de Tolentino to Las Palmas, taking the coastal route (Road 200). Along the journey this colourful rock formation, at Veneguera, could not be missed it was visible from a way off. On another day we came from San Nicolas de Tolentino to Playa Mogan and the colourful rock formation was equally as impressive from the other direction. There was a place to park up and take photographs and enjoy the most amazing sights. Where we parked there was a refreshments stall selling fruit juices. Have never been very interested in geology, rock formations, but Gran Canaria and especially here were fascinating. The words of the review and the photographs do not do this justice it has to been seen, amazing.

I'll admit it - we drove up here especially to see this! Mainly because we'd been through the mountains lots that week and still not managed to stop off here, and I just love anything to do with the nature. The fact that this has been made naturally blows me away, it's absolutely stunning. If you're not as nature minded as me, this may not be something that you'd drive out of your way for - but definitely combine it with visiting other things, and take the time to stop off if you are driving around in the area. On a sunny day the colours lit up and looked incredible. We also bought some Canarian bananas from the fruit stall near here, and I would definitely recommend those too!

I really don't think this is special, but aparently a lot of geologisk do. For me, it's just some rocks in different colour, nothing more than that. But the road up here is very nice, and if you are going this way, take a few stops to take some pictures. But don't expect anything spectacular.
