Very disappointed!! On Saturday I drove 50 minutes and arrived at the Monastery @ 9:15am - the sign posted very clearly says "open every day except Fri. - from 9am" The gate was locked and no one was around - I waited for an hour and called out several times while waiting to no avail - a wasted morning!

This place is were you can think peacefully, the climb to the top of the hill is worthwhile once you get inside. Many hours can be spent here as there are no passersbye.

Staying about 10 metres away from this little monastery I had to take a look. Beautiful, peaceful and a reminder that sanctuary in this world is a rare and important thing. Worth a trip if only for some peace.

Off the beaten track, this monastery has breath-taking views of the mountains and Bali village.
The monastery houses 2 monks at the time of writing and the environs of the monastery have delightful gardens and tranquil areas to stop, sit and contemplate.
The old church is well worth a visit to light a candle and say a prayer, if you wish.
An oasis of calm.
