Château de La Dauphine, owned by the Halleys, is the 2nd biggest vineyard of Fronsac, with 98 acres: 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Respectful of the vines, our ultra-modern facilities are conceived to also respect the grapes in order to produce 2 elegant wines: Château de La Dauphine and Delphis de La Dauphine. We opted for the lunch by the pool with our 3 year old daughter. She was occupied playing with the water and we sat drinking wine and eating great food. We were the only couple there since it was in early October. It was a lovely experience and we would definitely return. The lunch spread was delicious and diversified. The... More

This winery was included in our Bordovino Tour, and this was just a stellar visit. We were warmly greeted, and made to feel very welcome. A staff person gave the history of the winery, showed us parts of the vineyard, we toured the Chateau that is part of the estate (which is lovely), saw the impressive production area, and we... Myself and my husband stopped by this vineyard on our way to Bordeaux as we were impressed with Fronsac wines, in both quality and price (in comparison to neighbouring left bank and St Emilion). We found the one hour tour incredibly informative: we had a tour of the vines and the cellars during which our guide - with flawless English... More

Had the chance to visit Chateau de La Dauphine recently as part of a full day wine tour as organized through the Tourist Centre in Bordeaux. The whole day was great, but the highlight was certainly the time spent at the Chateau. Our hosts were well informed, enthusiastic and gracious. The winery and grounds are beautiful. The lunch and accompanying... More

We had a great tour of the complex and wonderful wine tasting. Our guide was competent, very friendly and patient with our many questions. Great wine too, of course. Our guide made the nez de vin with us, i.e. smell certain aromas first and then discover them in the wine. This was great to leora and understand the wines. Best,... More

We tasted two wines here, Delphis and Delphine 2009. The Delphis is a good entry level wine for drinking now but the 2009 Delphine is a high quality Bordeaux wine suited to being laid down for some years, or consumed with more complex dishes now. Recommended.

Went here on a Birdo Wine Tour, a drive out from the centre of Bordeaux, but so worth it. We were net by Marion who took us on a guide tour of the Vineyard, and she was so informative, the tour was interesting and we got to sample a couple of their 2007 and 2008 vintage. We didn't conpme away... More

We went to a couple of wineries during our stay in the Bordeaux region and this was by far our favorite. We did a so-called 'luxury' tour which included the inside of the castle and a tour of the grounds which was well worth it. Our guide was lovely and spoke excellent English which was great as our French is... More

The Fronsac wine region is quite small and is on the right bank near St Emilion. It is located just outside Libourne and is easy to reach by car. The wines at the estate are two - one young wine and the second the chateau wine that is more age worthy. The tour was completed in both French and English... More
