What I really appreciatd was how easy it was to view herds of a wide range of plains game including antelope which one would struggle to see in the more vegetated wilderness areas in the Kruger or reserves in the north west.

Went along to this with my wife and thought it was going to be a bit of a rip off. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very informative and not a rip off, the tour guide was very informative and took us through all the different tribes in South Africa, the food at the end was tasty and went... My first ever 30km cycle ride made pleasurable by wide cycle paths being available on the roads in this area. It is lovely, with views and interesting attractions to ride past (e.g. Rhino & Lion Park, with giraffes on view), which make time go quickly and minimise the effort that one has to put into getting up (and down) some... Considering that my visit to the site was for working on local geology, I had the opportunity to move within the reserve in relative freedom and evaluate aspects that are probably not evident to normal visitors. The environment is respected, there are few buildings and artificial water reservoirs and -unlike other similar attractions- there are no areas where animal are... More

I visited the Cradle of Mankind with my family, and after a reasonable drive, we got to the venue. The design and location was great, and we found the experience enriching and exciting. Overall, we all enjoyed the day out. Restaurants could do with improvement in service and variety though.

The place is well maintain... not many people in the visits... most of the time it will be only your group. (done twice and both we did alone). There is some difficulty for elders during the tour. Ensure you get clear with your restrictions before getting the ticket. Using Visa you can ensure better price if getting the combo tickets.

The caves are an interesting to discover. Going inside gives you feeling you won't find elsewhere. The guide we had made the tour really interesting: he was not merely stating facts but making visitors laugh and enjoy. However, the groups are too big. If you are claustrophobic, here is an opportunity for you to overcome this phobia.
