If you have children, I would recommend that you stop and show them the trout hatchery. It is very interesting. Also they can try fishing outside.

We found this hatchery by accident and were so glad we did! While it's very small, the team at the Kootenay Hatchery are doing incredible conservation work! There is also a cute catch-and-release pond on the property and loan out fishing rods for those who...More

We took the kids here and they loved the fish/turtle ponds as well as all the information shared. Us adults enjoyed the information on the local aquatic life. Peaceful and nice spot to stop in.

We were looking for something that was low key for our kids and this was perfect. The kids got to feed the rainbow trout and they loved seeing the fish race for the food.

This is a self guided facility, admission is by donation. Small but very informative. A nice break away from a long drive. Would recommend.

This is a great place to learn about the life cycle of fish that are 'raised' in this facility. There are tanks you can see up close and personal with a ton of great signage so you can have a self-guided experience without much problem....More

We arrived a half hour before closing and toured the hatchery. What a great place to stop. Really interesting and educational. Lots of entertainment value for 50 cents worth of fish pellets to feed the fish.
