There are some great views and some interesting buildings and bunkers and you will learn a thing or two as well. Don't miss trying to open every door you see. Some of them take you into places that are really cool.

The only thing we knew driving out was that there was a lighthouse to be seen. We were surprised to discover the entrance fee (Only $7US approx for both of us) to the historic army base and well preserved battlements that you had to cross to get to the lighthouse. With our little base map in hand we started walking,... More

Had wanted to visit this attraction for a while and finally got there on a beautiful summer day. The fort is quite fascinating with its history of protecting this wonderful harbour. Could get a real feel for the way the soldiers lived during the different eras. Fisgard Lighthouse has a very interesting history and is the oldest lighthouse in Western... More

Very relaxing place to visit and not many people. Lots of history at the fort and cost is only $3.90 per person. The lighthouse is neat and an easy walk. Expect to spend about 1-2 hours.

I knew about the Fisgard Lighthouse but didn't realize that Fort Rodd Hill would be there. I'm glad we found and explored this historic site. There is a reasonable entry fee, or as the caretaker said, "Entry is free, but it's $7.80 for the map." You are given a brochure to help point out areas of interest in a self... More

We spent an entire afternoon exploring, wandering, and learning about the Esquimalt coast Artillery Fort. The site is well presented with lots of information, things to see and a variety of interactive displays. Makes it a great place for all ages to enjoy. The Fisgard Lighthouse was a wonderfult walk through display and the bonus on the sunny day was... More

We were going mostly for the lighthouse (to take pictures) and didn't realize the fort was connected with the lighthouse as an attraction. Learned a lot about the history of the fort and lighthouse. Beautiful view of the water and even saw Canadian Navy ships out in the water.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and my grandfather was the superintendent. That was a long time ago! Now I take my daughter here and we often go several times a week. It is not only an interesting place historically, but there is much wildlife, we regularly see river otters, turkey vultures, woodpeckers, hawks and eagles. And... More
